This phone was first released in August 2013, but by June 2014, less than a year later Sony ceased supporting the phone. This phone will NOT receive a major OS revision. Google is updating the OS on Nexus 4, which was released in October 2012 (over 2 years ago) to the latest Android 5.0, yet Sony decided to end support on a 10-month old phone. Save your money and shop somewhere else.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Slibeop Nice but with limitations
This is a nice handset and is well built. I like some of the built-in apps, but of course would love to uninstall others to make more room. Speaking of which, while this phone mentions 8GB of storage, the Android OS must take up about 4GB, and the pre-installed apps another 2GB. You only have 2GB storage to add more apps. Worse still, you cannot move apps to an SD card, so you have very little space. I ran out of room on day 2 owning this. Bottom line: Skip this phone and look for something with more storage room in built-in memory.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MaxL My first smartphone could not be more perfect
Never had a smartphone before. Needed a dual sim device capable of operating on frequencies in the US and Europe. Sony Xperia M Dual Sim perfectly fit this niche. The more I learned about my new phone, the more I liked it: call quality is excellent (both mic and speaker), web browsing, data and battery power management (and battery life!) are great, multimedia capabilities excellent. I read reviews before buying this phone that the 5MP camera was unsatisfactory for some folks. I am perfectly pleased with that resolution as i don't blow out my photos as posters on the walls. The only one, real miniscule drawback is that you can't store data downloaded from the web (e.g., ringtones, etc.) on the SD card, and the amount of internal memory is not very generous.

Rated 5 out of 5 by martinB Great phone
Chose this phone because I go between the US and UK for the dual sim. When I got it I was very happy with it and my wife loved it too so she wanted one as well so I had to order another one for her. We now both have one which replaces our Samsung's. For us and what we need out of a phone it is perfect. Great phone, well done Sony.

I bought the phone with the understanding is that it was new. Near the SIM card area there is a water damage indicator. My sticker was pink thus indicating that there was water damage. Not sure how this is possible if it was a new phone. Rather suspicious. This phone was the Xperia Z Ultra lTE.
I return the phone within the 14 days and got all my money back.
With this purchase I also purchased another phone the M2 Dual. This was just for work and I didn't need anything special. I looked for the water damage indicator on this phone and for the life of me I could not find it and nor could detect at Sony tell me where it is. Now just after 2 weeks my phone is already starting to have software problems. I would come back to my phone after a couple days of 20 years and it would be turned off. Most would think all the battery ran out but it turns out that these phones are supposed to be on standby for 14 days. And on top of it I have it so it setup so its ultrapower conserving so it should go even longer. When I come back to turn on the phone it does not turn on whatsoever. I've had this phone where I charged it at a hundred percent and then the following day it was only 99 percent which only showed one percent decrease in the battery usage because of the way I have it set up. Now after two days of non use the phone just drains somehow. I'm a big Sony fan and I had big hopes for these phones but it turns out it was garbage.
I still want to give them a chance and try it but I'm worried. Now I'm stuck with the m2 dual which I cannot return for my money back and I'll be stuck in a cycle for one year of getting refurbished phone replacements which we all know is a joke. Refurbished equals a phone that lasts hopefully just a few months until they can get away from the contractual year.
