I originally purchased the Sony BDP-S6200 and really liked it, but the thing that drove us nuts was every time we turned the blu ray player on with the remote the disc loader would open up. This wouldn't normally be a problem, but a lot of times we just want to watch Netflix or Amazon Prime and if one of my kids turns it on and forgets to close it one of our dogs may hit it and break it off when they are playing around. So we decided to take it back to the store and shop around. We waited a couple of weeks and then saw that the Sony BDP-S7200 was available and so we decided to spend the extra money and give it a try. We have had it for almost a month now and we use it everyday and I have to say that it is by far the best picture and streaming player I have ever used (and the disc loader does not open when you turn it on unless you actually push the button!). I'm upgrading from a 6 year old Panasonic Blu Ray player and this Sony is night and day above the Panasonic.
Overall, probably the best Blu Ray player out right now in this price range. Thank you Sony!

Rated 3 out of 5 by Jortiz Good but not great
Purchased this player to replaced my old S790 which was one of the best players Sony has ever made. However, this player is a step backward compared to the old S790. 1st) the player only have one HDMI output. The S790 has TWO. 2nd) It only decodes True HD and Dolby as 2 Channels. The S790 decodes up to 5.1 Channels. Picture and Sound quality is great, however, for the amount of money Sony is charging for this player, they should have at least included a second HDMI output and full 5.1 channel internal decoding for True HD and DD. The S790 has all these features and cost almost half the cost less than the S790.

Rated 2 out of 5 by RatFink High priced for less than average product
What can I say except don't waste your money. Takes forever ever to turn on, midget no controls remote that doesn't work unless you point it straight at player. For the price can't include a Bluetooth remote. Pre-installed apps are mostly the premium pay version when a free to watch version is also available. Don't bother buying one of these players definitely not worse the price for the all the design flaws.

Replaced my Pioneer Elite because it would not read certain discs and it took forever to load the ones it could read. This player loads a disc in about 30 seconds. I am very satisfied with the performance of this unit.

Rated 1 out of 5 by anolesoul IT...SUCKS!!!!!!!!
This review is from: Sony BDPS7200 Dual Core 3D Blu-ray Disc Player with Wi-Fi and 4K Upscaling (Electronics)
After buying the "last" top-end Sony 3D blue-ray player(before Sony went and made it---obsolete---figures!) ...THIS one---SUCKS! They(Sony),have major "reduced" the audio connections on the back of this unit! MAKING it MORE costly,to even GET "sound" output...to EVEN get audio ----PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!
SONY---is really "cheapening...their products! At least...on this one!!!!!!!
And...the "play-back"(so far..) of my movies...leaves MUCH to be desired! AND...LOOK how MUCH MORE they(SONY) go and "charge"(MSRP)!
