Graphics (Video Card)

Dedicated graphics are critical for use with programs that have intense video graphics, which many of today's games and other media do. If your video card gets overloaded, your processor will borrow memory from your PC RAM which will result in slower reaction time, especially if you are running other applications. So, the more memory you have on your video card, the less your processor will have to borrow to display graphics, which will ultimately lead to better overall performance.

Hard Drive (Storage)

The hard drive is where permanent data is stored, such as applications, documents, music, photos, etc. The larger the drive, the more data that can be stored. If you are storing large amounts of pictures, music and movies, for example, a large capacity drive is recommended.

The number of "rpm"s (or revolutions per minute) dictate how fast your hard drive can spin. Higher rpm means faster read and write times, which mean faster overall performance.

Memory

Memory or RAM is what your computer uses to store current data/applications in use and so that the computer can quickly access that information. The more Memory your computer has, the easier and quicker it will be able to operate many programs/applications at the same time.

Engrave

As an elegant touch for a gift or an ideal spot for an inspirational message, the engraving is tasteful and tailored just for you. Engraving also provides an extra measure of security, making it easy to distinguish your laptop from others and deter theft at the same time.

Actual number of characters that will fit depends on your message, as certain characters take up more space than others. Actual measurement is done when you enter your message in the configurator. If your message is too long, you will see an error message with instruction to edit.

Please make sure your spelling is correct as shown. Engraved laptop cannot be returned. The 30-day return period does not apply to engraved products. These products may not be returned for refund or exchange unless they contain defects in materials or workmanship or are otherwise returnable under applicable warranty provisions.

Sony's VAIO laptop limited warranty does not cover replacement of engraving. In the event your engraved VAIO laptop receives service under Sony's limited warranty or any extended service plan offered by a third party, use of necessary replacement parts may eliminate the engraving on the laptop.
