Fantastic Ultrabook
I purchased the extended battery. It adds a little weight but I can use my vaio all day in regular business meetings (presenting or surfing the web) and not have to recharge until late at night.
I am a heavy computer user and was hauling around a powerful (and heavy) laptop. I was very nervous about the low specs on all ultrabooks but have been pleasantly surprised at the performance of this one.
It is great for giving presentations, reading books, watching presentations, surfing the web, checking emails and creating blog posts.

Great overall
When I looked at buying a new desktop I started thinking about what all I did on a computer. I had an Ipad, a mac laptop, and a PC. I did a ton of research on different options. A convertible seemed to be my best choice. With this device I have replaced them all. I no longer have to sync, use cloud storage, etc. It is very fast and responsive, a tad bigger than one wants in a tablet, and a tad small for a laptop, but considering it functions as both the small comforts lost from each are made up with the fact that it both. At home I plug a USB hub up that has my mouse, and keyboard. I plug in my large monitor and use it as a duel monitor home office set up. In the morning I unplug it and take to work, set it up there the same way to the monitor, mouse, and keyboard there. If I have a meeting I just unplug and go. This is the devise I needed for work, home, and actually play.
It will run most mid level games on average settings, but if your a serious gamer you already know this isn't designed for that. However, it can get you a fix if your bored waiting where there is decent wifi.
I load media player and play my music from this in the car using an audio input from jack.
The best part of it all really, is that I don't have to find Apps for programs I already use often on the PC. I have them already when installing the program. I couldn't be happier with the purchase. Just know its not the best tablet, not the best desktop, not the best laptop or ultra book. It is however the best option I found that combined them all. Very easy to transition from being one to anyone one of the above.

Awesome Machine
I might say that the keyboard takes getting used too and that that is a con but I have large'ish hands and fairly thick fingers and am typing quite well with it.
Other pros include the fantastic digitizer. I use it for notetaking all the time. Instead of typing journal type things I write them. Cool stuff.
I must have purchased one of the very last of this model because before I even received mine the model was removed and a new one, with the same basic spec but $100 more is on the website. Hopefully it doesn't mean that there is some serious flaw in this one that they have repaired. Only time will tell I guess.
People at work love it too, though many are still IPad-ophiles and see this as a "too heavy" tablet. It is true that I is heavy for reading while waiting for the train in a standing position, especially with the sheet battery attached.
The bottom line is that I love this machine.
I use it for programming in Visual Studio and SQL server, for writing, note-taking and all of the usual laptop/desktop activities.
Love watching Amazon Prime videos on it.
I definitely recommend it to friends. I like the connectivity that it offers. Sony has packaged pretty much everything you need for a complete portable computing experience.

Great Portable PC/Tablet
I've been searching for a fast 11 incher laptop that's lightweight and portable. I'm glad I found this one and very happy with purchase. I like the new features windows 8, touch screen, backlit keyboard. The whole design is very sleek and high quality. The stylus pen is a plus, I haven't used it much. I like the fast boot up and the instantly sleep/wakeup mode like a tablet, no more waiting like on my old laptop. The fix position of the screen is not a problem for me; I found that I can use it as is and didn't need to adjust the screen position. Overall, a great product!
