Frustration Beyond Measure
To start with, as simply a TV, this is very good. The sound gives a good full range, the screen looks excellent and has a wide viewing angle, and the tuner is relatively quick.
However, problems were encountered right out of the box -- even after returning one of these and getting a second one, the power supply inside this TV makes noise after it is turned off -- it's a high-pitched sound that is faint enough to be hard to localize, at first, but is still audible from almost all the way across a room. With two of this model having made this sound, I can only conclude that the power supply design was bad, or that the whole production run was made with bad parts (maybe bad high-frequency capacitors?).
However, even the faint power supply sounds could be tolerated if only the Internet functions weren't such a mess. The TV Guide (now Rovi) feature and the Bravia Widgets are being frequently and repeatedly reset -- channel, audio, video and other settings remain untouched -- it seems to just be these two features that get reset to their factory default conditions, over and over again.
It is supposed to be possible to just give a zip code and select a cable system to give the guide feature what it needs to provide a list of TV programs -- but every few days, whenever I try to use the guide, it asks me again what cable system this TV is attached to -- it can't seem to remember!
It is supposed to be possible to customize the widgets -- delete the ones you don't want, download the ones you do want, and customize things such as what cities you want the Yahoo! Weather widget to show. But every few days, I find my deletions, downloading and customizing all undone, and the selection of widgets has reverted back to the factory default selection -- wiping out everything I've done.
I wanted a full-featured Internet TV with such features as TV Guide and apps/widgets that would be a nice, smaller size for a bedroom, and this model was one of the very few options out there. Also, my family has been buying Sony TVs for literally decades, and until now, I've had a strong preference to doing so, myself. But going through two of this model with all of these problems has convinced me to consider other options.

one of my amazingly satisfying purchases
i used this product for watching tv shows,movies and blu-ray movies on ps3,Gaming on Ps3 Xbox 360,this gave me a marvellous resolution with very clear picture quality with very pleasing colours due to the Led in its lcd display. fast moving objects also appeared very much more clear than normal and specially the games i played at 1080p,60hz have me an amazing experience even playing them at 120hz also increased the refresh rate & cleared the picture just a bit because the games nowadays r not going higher than 60hz. even it has a very low lag(delay) in online gaming of consoles which gave me alot of advantage,the internet facility is also marvellous with a wide choice & with gaming consoles & tv itself.The use of Pc & Usb for pictures & movie viewing was also very fabulous.The sound of T.v itself & sound with extra speakers and woofers was also amazing. Inever used a separate blu-ray but used ps3 for this purpose and picture was marvellous but f there is alot of lighting directly towards this t.v,then there is reflection but it depends on where it is placed and even this t.v adjusts its lighting automatically by judging the environment.the ambient sensor also lets the t.v save the energy alot by making it stand-by automatically when it observes no movement for some time at a certain distance. as it observes a slight movement,it turns-on from stand-by mode. this tv is very good tv overall
