Terrible Harddrive
I would love to boast about this laptop since it was working quite fine for in the first three weeks. But then recently the "operating system could not be found." How can you not find the operating system when you working properly two hours ago.This computer is not even a month old and I have to get a new one. After talking to a representative, I was informed that some software, even legitimate software can cause the hard drive to malfunction. Well, aren't I the lucky one. What I am suppose to do, don't download any software? VAIO, get your act together and get a better hard drive.

Wonderful Laptop!
It is extremely light, lighter than the 13-inch Macbook Pro, and configuration is better too. I can use it almost for a day at school without charging. The sheet battery is brilliant, very handy for long international flights. With a student discount, I got it for about $950. But the price went down to $850 after several weeks. Sony has very nice price insurance, so I got about $100 back without too much difficulty. Thanks to all the customer service guys! You're really helpful.

Great Little Laptpo
I've always owed a sony vaio. I had the super small laptop back in 2002 when they first came out and it lasted 5 years before someone stole it. I had another one in 2007 that is still in good working order but I needed something smaller with better battery life.
I bought this laptop unseen on sony.com. I was looking for a small, light laptop with great battery time. I found the size and weight to be great, although with the sheet battery, the weight is a ittle higher of course.
I love that the keyboard lights up in darker spaces. I think the screen is great. There are other reviews here that say the screen is awful but I've had no issues.
Battery life is great. I think the stamina/speed switch is a new take on preserving battery life. I cannot say enough positive things. Vaio changed sides on the laptops as to where the ac adapter plugs in and where the dvd player is so I am adjusting to that. I felt pretty silly when the eject button for the dvd turned out to be on the laptop keyboard.
A great little laptop for work or play.

Best Choice
I really have to say. In the US, everyone is so crazy about Apple. But if you are rational enough, just think, the mac book pro is starting with 1199 or 1099 if you are a student or teacher. lets consider 1099 for now. 1099, no delicated graphic card, 4.5lb (heavier), thicker, same cpu, about the same battery life. Only one color available. Hey! VAIO. Comes with several color, More individualism. only starting with 999. thinner, lighter (3.8lb). You can ask for more. If you are a student you have 10% discount. which means it will be below 1000usd (tax included). If you still consider joining everyone else, and buy a macbook pro. I really have nothing to say... PS: Mac does not support quite amount of game. and with Window 7, you can play games in XP, which is a new feature that Window Vista does not have. If you customize the laptop with i7, and 1GRAM AMD 6630M, you can play L4D2 with highest setting, using a 32" inch monitor without lag. And COD:Modern Warfare 2 with medium/low setting on a 32" monitor with acceptable speed. To know more about the GPU. go notebookcheck.com. Just compare Intel 3000 which Apple does and AMD 6630 or 6470. You can see 6470 is 30% faster than Intel 3000 and 6640m is 100% faster. Purchase a VAIO, you wont regret for it gives you.
