Good Sony LED TV for any leaving room.
The TV has been in use for about a month and it has been in use more than five hours a day. It's easy to use with iManual. The picture quality is the greatest when shot outside application. When I watch news cast, sometimes the color are not the greatest. The faces tend to be too bright is like when the contrast is too high. I set the picture mode to "Vivid" mode. I tried other modes and the quality of the picture got worse. I think Sony should have done better job in displaying the colors on the screen. Also it is slow when I surf the net. I think the iPad is ten times faster when I go online on the same network. There is no operating system built in this TV like android or mac OS; therefore, there are no apps. I think Samsung of similar price would have to offer more features to make the TV a SMART one to enjoy the TV Experience. Sony did not offer 3D glasses with this set. unlike Samsung, and many other features that I have seen and heard other TV set makers offers, and for those reasons I give them 4 stars.

BEST TV EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I replaced my five year old Sony Bravia 50" rear projection TV (which STILL WORKED GREAT), with the 55" HX729. There is NO TV like Sony. Right out of the box it LOOKS GREAT. What more can I say, IT'S GREAT!!!!!

Sony Triumphs
Sony has never steered me wrong, I had a Sony Wega when it first came out, and loved it. Once the LCD tv's became popular
I switched to Toshiba and Samsung. Samsung seemed to conquer the market for LCD and LED TV's while Panasonic
held the title for Plasma's.
Comparing Sony's HX729 to my Toshiba Regza and my Samsung is like comparing Atari graphics to PS3 Graphics.
I have done my research and was on the verge of buying a Sharp, Samsung or even Vizio LED, however after looking at reviews I saw Sony Triumphed
over them all. Don't get me wrong Samsung and LG have amazing pictures, Sharp makes an Elite model with exceptional picture quality but who can afford a
$6,000.00 Television.
Sony is not that cheap however, you pay for what you get which is high quality imaging. The blacks are super black and can emulate even succeed that of a plasma.
The refresh rate is 240HZ with Motion flow bringing it to 480, The picture is phenomenal. At times it may seem too realistic to the point where you can tell that the cast is on a set. The picture looks like a soap opera and the detail is immense.
I used an expensive calibration disc for this TV, I targeted the Cinema mode and General, to be quite honest, I barely had to tweek them out. The preset
scenes are pretty much good as is.
Bravia Sync is awesome too, I turn my TV on and the surround sound turns on automatically, leaving out having to buy an expensive universal remote.
The sound on the TV is not that good because the speakers are located in the rear of the TV which can hinder the volume. But if you buy a TV like this
You must have a Surround Sound system. I have an HD Sony 5.1 Surround system, they work together fine.
This TV has 3D which I'm not really too crazy for, but I do plan on getting some glasses. It's a plus and I can tell you the glasses are expensive. I have yet to try the 3D yet so I cannot review it.
But overall, the TV is a great buy I only bought it because I was able to get a good discount through my job.
Overall I'm completely satisfied and have no regrets.

Excellent TV
I received this as a replacement for my ailing KDS-60 A2000 through the sony exchange program for a reduced price. I must say this blows away all other TV's that I have looked at. All of the features and benefits of this unit make it a great buy. Just compare the spec's of it to the other models. Set up was quick and easy. I went to my local electronics stores to compare the models before making my final decision.
