Quality is amazing, support not so much... I have long been a supporter and user of Sony AV (& TV) Products. I have this TV hooked up to a Sony STR_DA3500ES. It knows when the TV and stereo are both on (connecting via HDMI) and detects remote audio connection disabling the internal speakers. I had a calibration issue with the set and, luckily, was able to resolve it myself, updating the software in the set and its input selection. However, the support people are another matter. I downgrade the overall ratings due to their stupidity (online assistance/chat) and lack of phone support (waited on the phone for 30 minutes before giving in to online chatting). Too bad. Excellent Picture Quality & Great Customer Service Recently, I decided to upgrade my old 40" Sony XBR4 (which still works great and is now on my bedroom) with this new TV and all I can say is WOW! The picture quality is superb and so much better than the competition when viewed side by side at the electronics store. The blacks are truly black, and I had to do very little in terms of tweaking the picture to make it look slightly better out of the box. Watching sports on this set is a dream, gaming is immersive, and watching movies in 3D was a great experience. However.... The set that I purchased initially had a slight defect. There was a dark spot on the left center of the screen (barely noticeable) but once noticed it was hard not to focus on it. It did not appear to be dead pixels, but was more like a shadowy dirty spot. I contacted Sony about this and they were great. They not only offered to replaced the TV, they also offered a 2 year warranty on the replacement. I could not complain. The replacement was sent to me with "white glove delivery" where the delivery guy came into my home, set it up for me, then packed the damaged model and took it with him back to Sony. All this was at the cost of Sony. The whole process took about a week and a half, but I am very satisfied with the service overall, and the new flawless TV. Based on this overall experience, and the quality of the TV, I would recommend considering a Sony over all other brands. You cannot go wrong and will be one happy customer, as I am today. Best TV ever made The quality and clarity of the picture on HD and SD is unbelievably great. I was skeptic about 3D TVs before buying this one. It all changed once I started viewing the 3D programs. This has many technological advantages over earlier Sony XBR TVs. It is very easy to instal and getting access to internet programs like You Tube, Yahoo etc. is just a child's play. You will be happy with your purchase as I am now with this TV and also was before with my earlier Sony XBR TV. August 13, 2012

Excellent & Beautiful TV xbr 55 inch He movies are eye propping, 3D no one can beat this XBR except ELITE. I love watching 3D as the quality Is crisp and sharp. Blue ray runs well on this tv the best part Sony blu ray I You don't have to sync with the TV remote it automatically syncs. Wifi runs very smooth and have seen plenty of HD movies with no slow speed downloads. Amazon instant runs pretty smooth. June 24, 2012
