Great HDTV This 32" HDTV fit nicely in a bookcase cabinet that formerly housed an old 27" tv. This TV gets you away from the tangle of red/white/yellow composite cables. Our set up is a Sony BluRay with a single Sony PSP HDMI cable to this HDTV with a single Sony Optical cable from the TV to an A/V Stereo Receiver with an optical input. The stereo is wired to a pair of Infinity bookshelf speakers for a sweet sound boost if and when we want it. Also I ran a Cat7 Ethernet wire off our Study Room router through the garage and into the back of the TV to enable Ethernet as I didn't want to take my chances with a wireless connection through walls and cabinets. Ethernet will let you stream Netflix, HuluPlus, Amazon On Demand, etc. My favorite is the freebie Flixster channel which is movie trailers on demand. We dropped the Netflix on demand because I was afraid my kids wouldn't ever go outside to play with having all those cartoons at their fingertips. Anyway, the picture is sharp. If you stick with Sony BluRay you can get yourself down to one remote! We went from 3 seperate remotes for TV, DVD, and Roku down to just one that is really nice. The Roku functionality is built into the TV if you plug an ethernet cable into it. There's a picture pre-set for "Vivid" which automatically calibrates the tones and contrasts and looks super sharp. When movie credits roll now I can actually read the small words now. That's what BluRay and 1080 gets you. On the old TV and DVD the words scrolling on movie credits looked pixalated. This TV has all the sweet upgrades. The TV is backlit and I think the picture might look a bit sharper or reduce eye fatigue if you have some lighting in your room behind you or from an end table lamp- still experimenting with that. We're connected to a a small Wineguard HDTV antenna on our roof and the reception and picture quality is great. If interested in cutting the cord you can go to www.antennaweb.org and input your address and it shows you how far you are to station antennas broadcasting free digital HD signals to your community which will determine the size and location of an outdoor HDTV antenna to install. ZipInstallation.com is a little pricey but is a good A-to-Z service for getting an HDTV antenna installed if you can live without basic or premium cable channels. Signal reception problems are due to either stormy weather, broadcaster goof ups at the broadcasting antenna source, or big cable sabotage. Haven't figured that one out yet but may need a bigger HDTV antenna if my HOA will permit it! November 21, 2011

Best tv ever!! I give the value a 4 cause I payed $650 for 120hz but it's ok nOt all games use 120hz soo what's the point? I connect my ps3 into this just to play games and watch blu-ray movies and the LED really shows the clarity of this movie! Definitely would recommend for someone with a ps3 or a blu-ray player ! great picture-some flaws great tv but I bought this for the bedroom and it has a great timer function but to use it it takes you so much time to wase through the "home" set up menu it is not worth the effort before bed. Sound is not great but it is bett than my 32inch Vizio. the bells and whistles are all there but do they really work, only time will tell. the sound features such as 3d sound and surround work great on some channels but terrible on others, I would like to give it 5 stars but the sleep timer issue is a very bad sony design also the paper owners manu is garbage it is generic and worhtless. a plus is that the tv walks you throught the setup effortlessly but i love a color well printed manual to look at. the only thing this owners manual is good for is to replace the scott tissue in the bathroom. I haven't gotten this TV myself, but a friend owns it. I absolutely love this TV when compared to my CCFL ViewSonic. The picture quality when hooked up to a PS3 via HDMI is very good but SD sources are OK. The audio isn't great, but my expectations weren't high for that to begin with. Previous Reviewers rated this low for not including an HDMI cable....I've never seen any TV's come with accessories in the box so I don't see that being a CON. May 18, 2011
