Feature packed and a great value, shoots fast This is my second Sony DSLR, I had an A330 but sold it because this camera is a much better fit for what I like to do, (I'm an amateur sports photog). There's a few things I love about it so far, it shoots seven frames a second, which means I can follow the action, its light in weight, and functionally a real step up from the A330. What I mean by that is that it is easy to use without having to read an 80 page manual. I've been able to "get the shot" more often because when I press the shutter it starts firing without a delay, I'd recommend this camera to anyone shooting sports. November 13, 2010
Jerky Zoom I thought this camera would solve all my problems for stills and video. Not so. I can't zoom smoothly with either the 18-55 supplied lens or my older 18-200 which came with my a-100. I've since tried Nikon lenses and they operate smoothly as do Canon's lenses. Sony and Zeiss need to fix this for cameras that do video. Only 4 out of 5 stars because of this fault. November 30, 2011
Sony refunded my money 50 single shots on a 90 degree day in the south and the camera shut down for overheating. 100 shots and 45 seconds of video over an hours time after sunset on 80 degree day caused shutdown. Avoid this camera. I still think Sony is a good company. I bought a Canon 7D and returned it because the A33 shot better and had autofocus on video unlike the 7D. I just ordered the A77 with high hopes of a decent camera from Sony. Wish me luck and check the review on that one later. November 3, 2011
