Great TV for the $
We recently purchaed this tv at a local Sony Outlet Store. My wife was a little hesitant buying it sight unseen and she wasn't even sure we needed a new unit but the reviews I read through various sites made me thought for the money I couldn't wrong. Also, I was looking at the television from its 2D capacity since 3D content is still limited.
Set up was very simple and we placed the tv in the store demo mode since I read the default picture had a bit to be desired. We were blown away with the bright colors and the crisp details. The "soap opera" effect that people complain about with 120 and 240 refresh rates didn'l take long to get used to. The speakers on the TV are pretty good considering they are TV speakers. We hooked the TV up to a 5 year old 2.1 channel Dream Machine and had no problems. We tried a few blu-ray movies through the PS3 and were very excited. We now don't mind putting on the kids Disney / Dreamworks movies since the computer animation simply pops on the screen. I think my wife loves the TV more than I do!
We did get the 3D glasses as well and cracked them open once we were sold on the 2D capabilities. Movies designed for 3D were excellent. The active 3D glasses were a little heavy but comfortable. The TV does have a feature to attempt to convert 2D to 3D but it wasn't great.
My only complaint is the TV is wireless internet and 3D capable, wich means you have to go out and buy those components which brings the bill up by over $100+. We have not yet purchased the wireless adapter since most of the apps are all ready on the PS3. One minor complaint is the TV takes a little time to come on.
Overall we are very happy with the purchase and a great deal for the $.

Works great for me
my first high tech (3D Ready) tv
I'm quite please but have little to compare it too.
Other than a comuter monitor.....
I'm lovin hi def content, but opted out of 3D capablce tv cause I didn't want to wear glasses.
Next should be holograms !
Good work Sony, but take care of your customers and they will come back.

Black Ops 3D Gamming on XBox 360
I have had this HDTV 3D for a month. Bougt it from Best Buy...I have had no problems..Worth every penny, then some. Glasses are very comfortable..I wear them up to 5-6 hrs at a time on Black Ops Xbox 360. AWSOME gamming tv.You honestly have to try it to belive how incredable this 3D HDTV's LED are.

Nice tv for sure.
I have to say this tv's image looks incredible. Be sure to turn off the power saving feature before you start calibrating, it not only changes the brightness depending on the room brightness but it affects the colors as well. Once you do the image jumps off the screen. It also helps completely eliminate the soap opera effect, some people call it the 3d effect without the 3d. I've tried this tv with directv, a ps3 with games and bluray, and xbox 360 as well as a logitech revue google tv. Overall I'm very impressed with the tv. My only caveat is that the tv can display some glitchyness on large panning scenes or closeups that rotate around the character. Playing with the motion control never eliminates it completely. I had mentioned I played xbox and ps3 on here but I have to say the games look incredible as well. Overall this tv is a very good tv. I had wish I had bought it around xmas time because I have read numerous reviews talking about it coming with a ps3 and the 3d bundle kit. I haven't tried the 3d yet cause the glasses are crazy overpriced. Here's to hoping the price drops soon.
