Great TV
The TV was delivered quickly. I chose the standard shipping and it showed up within 4 days of ordering.
Sony had a deal for a free Blue Ray player and sound system with the purchase of the TV and I am thankful that they did because the TV's speakers are lacking. You have to turn the volume up to about 50% just to hear it and about 75-85% to listen to it normally but with the sound system it is not a problem.
The TV itself, only one word can describe it .....WOW. this has to be the best picture that I've ever seen. It looked better right out of the box than any of the TV's that I looked at in the electronics stores. It is super crisp and just beautiful.
The stand that it comes with is not really the greatest and I've noticed that it does not hold the TV at a 0 degree angle. The top actually tilts forward al ittle and for a guy with OCD this is a minor annoyance.
The only reason that I gave the reiability a 3 star is that I just got the TV a week ago. I hope that this TV will last a long time but just incase I did buy the 5 year warranty.

Excellent picture
I like the TV very much, but I have a few problems with it ? one is my fault, the others are with the design of the TV and its operation.
The first problem is with the ?Gorilla glass? that covers the screen. If I had gone to a bricks-and-mortar store, I would have seen that the glare on this glass is quite high. Probably I would not have bought this model for that reason. I have two other Sony HDTVs, one a LCD and one a DLP. The screens on those models have a matte finish, so there?s no glare. Fortunately, I do most of my viewing at night, but I must dim any lights in the room (reminds me of a plasma screen). My recommendation: if you?re going to buy on-line, go to a store first and check out the TV.
The second problem is with the viewing ?sweet spot.? It is VERY narrow. Fortunately, I have the TV on a swivel base, but it is a pain to have to rotate the TV when I change my viewing location. An annoyance for sure.
The third problem is with the sound. I have not been able to set the sound so that it appears to emanate from the center of the TV (monaural sound). Turning off the surround sound helps, but even doing that is annoying. I use a Logitech Harmony universal remote to control the TV and the DVR source. The remote pre-empts the navigation buttons for the DVR so that the navigation of the TV menus is not available. Since the ability to turn the surround sound on or off is buried three levels down in the menu structure, I must use the TV?s remote to do this. Again, not a huge problem, but definitely an annoyance.
The last problem is with the sound and the fact that it is very unidirectional when I use the TV?s sound, which I do a majority of the time. Again, not a huge problem, but definitely an annoyance. If there is a way to fix this problem, it is not evident in the documentation, which by the way is available only on-line.
I do like the TV and am glad that I bought it. The 52? size is perfect for my situation and the picture in the sweet spot is excellent.

Terrific Picture
Went with Consumer Reports and not disappointed especially when on sale, tried to find another but could not. Disappointing need a longer power cord since tv moved--cannot find a replacement as yet -since 2 prong AC--huge factor no control backlight-quite tough to see control choices in the dark.
