As good as expected Have been enjoying this TV for a few days and really like it. It is probably the best 55 LCD out there. Personally I do not like the LED because I think they are too bright. This one is perfect, big screen and great picture. Although you gotta have a nice sound equipment to plug it in, because the sound out of the TV does not make justice to how good the TV really is. KDL-55EX500 When I was upgrading from my 32" Dynex, I found this TV and it instantly caught my eye. For a price drop to $1,200 at my local Best Buy, I couldn't say no. I wasn't expecting to get one this large, but hey, I'm a guy! I took this home, and it was very easily set up - the picture is amazing, I don't know what everyone else is talking about. You won't be upset if your using HD! I can't review on component because I don't use it, but the HD is amazing, and the quality and color is just perfect for any TV enthusiast. I've had zero problems with my product, so I am a very happy customer. I have never been disappointed with Sony - they are becoming my home stock pile of products! January 24, 2012

sad replacement After many years as a satisfied Sony analog TV customer, took the leap to the large LCD panel with the 52" Bravia. Its screen panel failed in just over 3 years! I was offered this 55" TV at a cost of $900 as a replacement for the bad one (this doesn't count the cost of "repair" to determine the fatal problem). 3 years is an unacceptable lifespan for an expensive consumer product. A manufacturer not making good on faulty equipment is also unacceptable. I'm not risking my money on another Sony product. January 6, 2012
