Awesome Notebook This notebook is surprisingly fast for the processor it has. I use it for programming, digital design, videos, music and a lot more. I've had no problems with it and really enjoy this computer. July 24, 2010
Not worth - mediocre looks and performance first looks tells the story, i had great expectation from this Sony's mobile laptop. but when I saw it , i was disappointed. The looks are not as good as it looks, per me it does not look stylish at all, very old style look. Screen is not well lit, even if it says LED screen which are usually much brighter. Nothing else to tell about it if you compare laptops which fall in similar set. Though a lot about returning it but thought ethically its wrong from my side, so bearing this loss on my own..... Also it doesn't ship with any Windows 7 CD or drivers June 6, 2010

Wonderful computer I really love this computer, which I've used for about two weeks now (but for about 15 hours a day!). I did a lot of research before choosing it and wasn't sure it would be powerful enough to allow me to run several CS3 apps at the same time (with web browsers and Word running in the background). But it's definitely powerful enough; I never use more than about half of either the 4 mb's of RAM or the CPU, which is great. I love having two batteries, although I've only used the big one so far. I've never owned a Vaio before but, so far, it's got me convinced I'll stick with them from now on....great keyboard; everything about this computer feels like it's well-made. I don't travel much but I love not having to worry about running out of battery when I unplug. I had to phone tech assistance because (as it usual on keypads these days), tapping was enabled and I kept finding my cursor where I didn't want it to be. The assistance was very good and I'm now quite happy with the keyboard. I love the fact that the case is NOT shiny! My last computer was a fingerprint nightmare. I have not had any problems with clicking noises (see reviews under the $799 configuration of the Y); the machine runs quiet and cool. My only complaint--which is fairly minor--is that there are 2 usb ports on the right hand side and they are not as far from the front as I would like; I use the mouse on a small padded platform on my lap and the usb stuff is sort of in the way.
