A powerful 12.1 megapixel 1/2.3” Super HAD™ CCD image sensor helps you capture gorgeous images with superb contrast and clarity down to the finest detail. With 12.1 megapixels, you can create stunning, photo-quality prints up to A3+ (13x19”) size, or crop your images and still come away with high resolution shots.

Intelligent Scene Recognition (iSCN) Mode

Intelligent Scene Recognition (iSCN) Mode automatically detects seven different types of scenes and, within just 1/30th of a second, selects the appropriate camera settings: Backlight, Backlight Portrait, Twilight, Twilight Portrait, Portrait, Landscape and Macro.

Smile Shutter™ technology

Smile Shutter™ technology captures a smile the moment it happens. Simply press the Smile Shutter™ button and the camera does the rest. You can also adjust the degree of Smile Detection Sensitivity. Intelligent Scene Recognition can now be used together with Smile Shutter™ mode when the Intelligent Auto mode is on. This means that beautiful smiles can be captured with settings optimized for the particular scene, even in difficult conditions such as twilight and backlighting.

Waste of money I purchased this camera last year. After 2 months, pictures start blurring, I spent half of camera price to change the lense and now picture quality is too bad..i had a good faith in SONY produts but its a totally waste of money. June 24, 2011

Quite Disappointing. I got this camera less than a month ago and in all honesty I can't help but feel I have wasted some of my money. The battery life is terrible, after purchase I got a 4GB memory card and whenever I use it to take pictures it's battery runs down abruptly which makes me ask myself what the point of buying the camera was. I'm really disappointed because I had such high hopes about this camera since it's a SONY product. The picture clarity is not as good as I hoped, I once used an OLYMPUS camera with 10.0 mega pixels & the pictures were much better compared to what I got form this camera. I design a lot of pictures and since I don't yet have the money to buy better versions of cameras I really hoped this one would help. I sincerely hope this type of fault has been rectified in later versions. Thank you. May 5, 2011

Poor image quality, blurry pictures The image quality is the camera is poor with most of the images, as i am a not a pro photographer the auto settings are capture poor images, I have to take 3-4 images to get 1 good image otherwise images are too dark or blurry. All together opt for some other camera. December 2, 2010
