The 2.7” Clear Photo™ LCD (230 K) display3 provides excellent viewing clarity with improved resolution (211K pixels). The display rotates up to 270 degrees for multiple viewing angles, as well as provides sharp, detailed images for monitoring or playback. 25X Optical / 300X Digital Zoom:

25X optical zoom helps to bring the action close up from far away. In addition, Digital Zoom Interpolation means that digital zooming (up to 300X) is clearer, with less distortion than previous types of digital zoom.

Personalized Menu System

New user friendly interface uses touch screen technology to allow users to scroll through menus quickly and easily and even create a personalized “My Menu” to bring together the functions they use most. Users can spend more time recording memories and less time in menus.

Smooth Slow Record:

The Smooth Slow Record mode increases the record rate from 60 frames per second (fps) to 240 fps, allowing you to capture 3 seconds of fast motion and play the video back in 12 seconds. This is a great tool for analyzing a golf swing or a viewing a bird in flight. In addition, you record an audio track to narrate the video footage.

Dynamic Range Optimizer:

The D-Range (Dynamic Range) Optimizer function adjusts the exposure and contrast of an image to counter the effects of high-contrast shooting condition, allowing for a great shot. The D-Range Optimizer suppresses “blackout” in dark areas such as shadows and “whiteout” in bright areas such as skies. As a result, the captured image appears as natural as the original scene.

Record and zoom controls on LCD frame:

The HDR-XR150V features an additional set of record and zoom buttons on the frame of the LCD screen, give you more control and flexibility when holding the camcorder, especially in overhead or low angle shots.

BIONZ™ Image Processor:

The BIONZ™ Image Processor works in conjunction with the "Exmor R" CMOS sensor for pristine imaging. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY I am a very experienced camcorder user with +10 years of experience and no shaky hands at all using other model. Initially, this HDR-XR150 worked great for a few months. Then, the hard drive started giving bufferring errors frequently and the recording would stop after only 1.5 years of usage. Even tried formatting the hard drive few times caused it to work intermittently. It works ok on the memory card so it is a hard drive issue which is very unreliable. DO NOT WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY (+500 Usd) ON HARD DRIVE MODEL AND BUY A CHEAPER MODEL WITH RECORDING TO BE DONE JUST ON THE MEMORY CARD. This model should get a zero star rating. March 10, 2012
Cant wait to get this!! I bought the cheaper xr68 after reading some reviews that were mixed and after trying it I wasnt very impressed. One of the reviews mentioned this camera as being a better buy, and since then I have read alot of reviews for the XR150 that are all good. I am so excited to use this thing. FANTASTIC CAMCORDER The best camcorder i have ever purchased, would be even better if it supported mac. it does work great with imovie, but would be nice to also use sony software. (get off your high horse sony and work with apple). but other than that i would recommend this camera to anyone, well worth the price. September 6, 2010

2.This camcorder captures high definition footage in the AVCHD format. High Definition AVCHD discs can be created using standard DVD media, the supplied software and a compatible PC.
