Great and It does work with a Zune January 2, 2011
Confusion I purchased this unit for my Toyota last week. I never use an ipod and bought the ipod ONLY for usage in the car as CD changers are a pain. All the music on my ipod is in lossless .wav format. I have JBL components in the front doors and Infinity Reference 6x9s in the back. I also purchased the ZR604 600W amp with this unit. So the first thing I do after installation is connect my ipod and find the sound quality outright miserable. Tried each and every setting but no use. Then I played an audio CD and the sound was good. So I now hate the ipod even more. I converted all my music to AAC format on a Western Digital external hard drive and there's a huge difference in the sound quality. BUT! The unit reads 3 folders only i.e. it will read 3 main folders and then sub folders inside but 3 main folders only. So I created multiple folders in the root directory of the hard drive and tried again. If it was reading the entire Pink Floyd discography, the entire Yardbirds discography and the Fresh Cream folder yesterday, it is reading Cold Play discography, U2 discography and Bjork today. The 3 folders it was reading yesterday have been replaced with 3 folders today only different ones. I am at my wits end and have no idea WHAT to do! Please help! March 12, 2010
Great HU This HU is absolutely amazing, no bad parts about it. As stated below, it does not play Zune player because the Zune player requires specific software to be played just like an Ipod, hence, why most new HU's say Ipod compatible. February 13, 2010
Great head unit This headunit is great.I dont have to burn cds anymore.I just use one of my old 2gb flash drives for music and it sounds great. The sound quality is really good due to its 24 BIT DAC.The radio sounds great too and you have to option to keep a separate eq for each input as well as volume level for each input. This is a great feature coz many times Fm stations have too much bass compared to cds or usb.The screen is great too.Overall its a very good looking HU with a tone of features, however the learning curve for all the features might be a little too long esp for people that are not tech friendly.
