Great TV, Poor Video Codec and DLNA support The Good: I upgraded to this television from a Samsung 63" 7-series Plasma, and was blown away by the picture of the Sony. Palladia HD, one of my favorite HD channels, looked clear and crisp on the Sony, whereas on the Samsung I would get a ton of color fragmentation from the fast moving colors and lights of concerts in HD. The Bad: I do not know why Sony keeps insisting on crippling their file format support. This television will only play Mpeg2 video, That's it. I have a Sony HDR-SR5 HD camcorder, and the TV can't even play those files. There is no DIVX, XVID, h264, nothing. DLNA also does not recognize one of the most popular and free upnp/dlna servers on the market, TVersity. Ultimately the codec support cripples this TV badly. BTW, The old Samsung did DIVX, Xvid and DLNA beautifully. Almost have the complete package with this TV, but hopefully we get some more codec support in the future real soon here. December 22, 2009

Great except for DLNA implementation The TV is great as a TV. The picture is beautiful. One of the reasons I picked this set was the ethernet connectivity and DLNA. I have been very disappointed to find out that although my Playstation 3 can easily view all of my content over DLNA this TV can not do it natively because the DLNA implementation is very poor. I hope that Sony fixes this with a firmware update in the near future. November 30, 2009
