Great Sound Compared to Any Earbud for the Price
I listen to all kinds of music with these headphones, high-bass included, and they perform spectacularly. Best bass I've ever heard in a $30 ear bud, and there's no crackling during the treble either. Changing the cushion size can help them fit into your ears better, and the better they fit the more noise they will block out. I've had them for over a year and they are still working perfectly, and I usually just wind them up and throw them in my backpack. Definitely recommend these for anyone who wants good sound, but doesn't want bulky over-the-ear headphones.

Nice Buy
My pair of headphones lasted through my washing and dryer machine so I can't say that the durability is bad. I think it's pretty good. For the price, I have to say that the quality of the sound is amazing...the bass is sufficiently booming and the treble is generally clear. Also, the headphones actually do block out at least 50% of the noise around you so you get a good listening experience. Looks nice (blue version).
Don't know how they'll hold up in the long run. Had them for a few months.
Only complaint is that the plastic cord does make annoying scratching/thumpy sounds when it rubs against your clothes.

Best Intermediate Earphones...
I have trouble keeping earphones in my ears. These are the best for that problem. When I am doing outdoors activities, these fit awesome and even have a noise canceling effect, although not advertised as so. I have used these on an airplane and the ambient noise is lessened. I like the in-line volume control and Y shaped design also. I am very picky about my 'tech toys' and Sony finally came up with a winner in the MDR-EX36's. Thanks a lot!
