Sony Should Be Embarrassed Decent MP3 player but not supported with accessories by Sony. My daughter saved for a year to get an "ipod" and decided on the Sony Walkman MP3 partially based on my confirmation that Sony makes great products. A few months later she asked for a docking station for her walkman for Christmas. After spending nearly an hour on the phone with a Sony Style technician I was told that while Sony makes 4-5 different docking stations (clock radios, boom box docks, etc.) that are compatible with "true" i-pods, they only make one for the their own Walkman MP3 and it is $179 and has no functionality other than amplified speakers. Sooo, thanks Sony, I will now have to explain to my daughter that I was wrong about Sony.....they support the Apple i-pod but not their own Walkman. Sony should be embarrassed and buyers should take the cue from Sony themselves and buy the i-pod, not the Walkman! December 16, 2008
