I have used it everywhere
This lense came with my A100 3 years ago. It is the only lense I have ever used. I am no professional by any means, but have taken some professional quality photos with this lense. Thousands of pictures later and it still works as good as it did 3 years ago. I would recomend this lense to anyone starting out with a DSLR or begining into photography. Definetly worth it. Although, I am looking forward to getting a G series lense with a low aperture level.

Good lens, but doesn't give the range it says
Have used this lens for several months as primary lens on my a380 due to the range, but have compared it to 4 other lenses I have and the range falls somewhat short of the 200mm it claims. Based on personal tests, I estimate that it actually falls into around 175-180mm range. The only other real fault I have with this lens is that the maximum aperture is f:6.3 @ 200mm, as compared with f:5.6 @ 200mm on my old Tokina 35-200, and f:4 on my Minolta 70-210 "beercan" lens, making it a rather "slow" lens comparatively speaking.
Overall, if you are looking for a walkaround lens that takes sharp photos, gives good range from wide-angle to moderate telephoto, being used mainly in daylight or with flash, this is the lens for you. Just don't expect to use it for low-light situations with no flash unless you utilize a tripod.

Perfect Vacation Lens
Just returned from a trip to China where we carried several lens all day up steep mountains and many, many steps. My wife balk at all the weight. Upon our return we got this lens and totally happy. Light, versatile, and Gramma doesn't have to carry anything. Pictures are sharp, clear, and easy to crop and take right the first time. Good for indoor shots of temples and cathedrals; planes and birds; and wonderful outdoor scenes. If only one lens - this is it!. Still have all my lenses;but, this one stays on the camera.

Great lens for the money
I have this lens and I find that it takes nice sharp and clear images. I have made prints up to 20x24 with no loss of sharpness.
