Great Sound Quality, Forgive the Construction I shouldn't come as a great shock when sub $20 headphones break after a year or two, as my first V150 did. The plastic headband is fragile. The ear pads are also prone to wear. But I gladly bought another pair, since the sound quality is so well balanced. These really are monitor headphones, with remarkably little distortion, regardless of the volume or range. Great bass but also good clarity in midrange and treble. The cord is very long, and can get tangled when you use it with portable MP3 player and the straight plug is inconvenient for portable use as well. Sadly, this line has been discontinued and the replacement model, the MDR-ZX100 has terrible sound quality and is painful to wear. The V150 was truly great and a great value. Avoid the ZX100. Sony Headphones I've had these for over a year and my uncle had them before I did. He gave them to me when he bought some new ones. They are really good, and very comfortable. They are definitely better than any iPod earphones or other cheap headphones out there. I even compared these to Beats Solos, and they are almost as good as the Beats I think. I would highly recommend these to any and everyone. These are the best you will ever find for this price, and if you don't want to spend like $50-$100 on some better ones, get these if you need headphones. July 17, 2012
Save up for something better These would be well worth the money if they were built better. You'll be lucky to get more than a year of use. February 27, 2012
Decent sound. Break easily. These sound great for the average listener. They're balanced pretty well as far as Bass-Mid-High goes, and they sound WAY better than the standard-issue iPod earbuds. At a price of $20-$30 depending on where you buy, you really can't beat them. However, you are also getting what you pay for as far as durability goes. I've gone through two sets in as many years because I travel a lot and these headphones don't travel well at all. For the record, they are called, "Studio" headphones, but I like to use them as much as I can because they're the best set of headphones I own. The plastic headband has been the problem both times, cracking right above the ear cup. If they would just fold up, I would still be on my original pair, but again they are only $20-$30. Another issue, which I guess is a plus for most people, is that the cord is so long. I overcame that by just leaving it curled in the twist-tie that it comes in, and I could adjust the length as necessary. I guess in the end, it's better to have the cord available than unavailable. So there you go. Decent Price. Decent Sound. Not made for travel. December 27, 2011
