Big Disappointment Bought laptop for my wife and one for myself. Turned on hers and immediately got a message incompatible battery. Battery panel not the most convenient to access. Followed suggested actions still problem persists. Have to return it. Big disappointment. Not recommended March 1, 2013
Very satisfied with my pink VAIO S series 13.3" I walk around a lot with my laptoppy and was looking for a light yet feature rich machine (optical drive was a must) and somewhat powerful processor that matches my desktop computer with a Core 2 Quad 2.4GHz processor at home, This one turns out to be perfect! This cute little thing lets me take out a HD video from my camera, cut, and combine segments. I think this one offers what you are looing for if you are after a little more than just a laptop-form netbook that is only good for web-surfing and Microsoft Office. The only problems I had were bloatwares and the slow hard drive. After reinstalling the OS and installing an SSD, this baby is speedier than I expected. The color is more carrot-ish than it appears on the website. It is not little-girly pink but more mature or down to earth shade of pink. Can be a pro or con depending on your taste. I have not had a chance to try Intel WiDi that this unit supports. I got a sheet battery with the laptop which literally doubles the better life. When I recharge the unit with the sheet battery, the laptop's resident battery gets recharged FIRST so that I can run with the laptop before the sheet battery gets recharged, whereas the sheet battery seems to get drained first when I use the laptop. I am quite impressed by this well thought out recharge / discharge order. Sony's customer support has been excellent. I got a good deal over the Mother's Day and gave me a price adjustment when the price dropped in the following month. I plan on getting another VAIO when this one needs to be retired.
