Next time you're on the go, take the Sony VPL-DW120 mobile projector along for the ride. It features a massive widescreen 1280 x 800 WXGA picture. And while the projector delivers the high brightness and powerful color you'd expect from a larger unit, it only weighs in at 5 lbs., 7 oz. And, just like you, with the supplied carrying case, it travels in style.
With the VPL-DW120 you don't have to sacrifice impressive performance for serious portability. While only weighing at a little over 5 lbs. it delivers 2600 lumens of brightness, superb color accuracy, and outstanding contrast ratio of 2500:1 (average value, full white/full black).
At the heart of today's projectors are the microdisplay panels that create the picture. That's why the VPL-DW120 utilizes Sony's proprietary microdisplay panel, the BrightEra LCD panel. It delivers an optimum combination of 2600 lumens of brightness along with superb contrast, long panel life, and energy efficiency. Those are serious bloodlines.
Many projectors use a single microdisplay and a color wheel that can only display one color at a time, which degrades color accuracy. But the VPL-DW120 uses three separate BrightEra LCD panels: one each for red, green and blue. In Sony's 3LCD configuration, all three panels are active all the time, so you get incredibly vivid, lifelike color. The 2600-lumens brightness figure is matched by 2600 lumens of color brightness – a testament to top-level color performance.
Despite the serious performance it delivers, this projector actually conserves energy. Equipped with BrightEra LCD panels, it achieves high brightness per watt of power, but Sony goes even further. Three different Auto Power Saving functions conserve even more energy when the on-screen subjects are dark, when the projector is between presentations (or classes), and when you hit the Picture Muting button. The results: more lamp time, less energy used, and smart conservation.
To save you even more money, the projection lamp has an impressive operating life: 7,000 hours (expected time in low mode, not guaranteed). This performance is made possible because the projector actively monitors the lamp driver circuit and cooling, making adjustments on the fly to extend lamp life.
Your presentations should be smooth and hassle free, whether you're standing before a conference room of clients or a classroom of students. Sony designed the VPL-DW120 to set up with minimum fuss. Connect in just seconds with composite video, VGA or HDMI® inputs1. Stay in control of your presentation by freezing slides, temporarily muting the image, or switching inputs with the supplied remote control. And when it's time to jet, Off-and-Go lets you to turn the power off, unplug, and leave.
The Sony VPL-DW120 3LCD mobile projector offers native WXGA (1024 x 768) resolution and 2600 lumens projection plus utter convenience with a lightweight form factor weighing just 5lbs. 7oz. Ideal for a range of business applications, especially small and home office use, it's designed with sleek and stylish aesthetics, so it also fits seamlessly into corporate, retail and educational settings. With Sony's "Off and Go" feature, you can turn it off and take it to go immediately—no waiting around required. It even includes a carrying case for easy portability. The VPL-DW120 projector boasts an energy-efficient design and a focus on lower total cost of operation, including an auto lamp dimming function, an energy-saving Auto Mode and an extended lamp life of up to approximately 7,000 hours (depending on the lamp mode selected). Combined with great picture quality generated from Sony's Bright Era® 3LCD panels, this projector is a terrific choice for your business, school or office.
