Portability and performance – the VPL-DX120 combines them both. On the portability side, this sleek projector weighs in at just over five pounds and comes supplied with its own carrying case. Sony achieves 2600 lumens of brightness, XGA resolution, superb color accuracy and outstanding contrast ratio of 2500:1 (average value, full white/full black). Yet small as it is, this projector still delivers a picture quality that's quite compelling.

At the heart of today's projectors are the microdisplay panels that create the picture. That's why the
VPL-DX140 utilizes Sony's proprietary microdisplay panel, the BrightEra LCD panel. It delivers an optimum combination of 2600 lumens of brightness along with superb contrast, long panel life, and energy efficiency. It's all good.
Complex color that's simply true.
Many projectors use a single microdisplay and a color wheel that can only display one color at a time, which degrades color accuracy. But the VPL-DX120 boasts three separate BrightEra LCD panels: one each for red, green and blue. In the 3LCD configuration, all three panels are active all the time, so you get incredibly vivid, lifelike color. The 2600-lumens brightness figure is matched by 2600 lumens of color brightness – a testament to top-level color performance.
Smart, like you.
Despite the serious performance it delivers, the VPL-DX120 actually conserves energy. The projector's BrightEra LCD panels achieve high brightness per watt of power, but Sony goes even further. Three different Auto Power Saving functions conserve even more energy when the on-screen subjects are dark, when the projector is between presentations (or classes), and when you hit the Picture Muting button. The results: more lamp time, less energy used, and smart conservation.
Serious lasting power.
To save you even more money, the projection lamp has an impressive operating life: 7,000 hours (expected time in low mode, not guaranteed). This performance is made possible because the projector actively monitors the lamp driver circuit and cooling, making adjustments on the fly to extend lamp life.

Connect in just seconds with composite video, VGA or HDMI® inputs. Stay in control of your presentation by freezing slides, temporarily muting the image, or switching inputs with the supplied remote control. And when it's time to jet, Off-and-Go lets you to turn the power off, unplug, and leave.
