Sony STB II I don't know about all the other reviews,but this Sony is a step in the right direction. It is a step up from the Revue which is retired to a secondary TV.There is already a work around to get a full sized keyboard to work with the G7.I'm sure Sony will be upgrading features as they come available.As with any new product there will be growing pains. Crashes my DVR I just purchased this from Madison avenue in New York city I was so excited but now I am very dissapointed The machine crashes my DVR constantly. My DVR reboots all the time. I have connected it to my Denon Receiver and i experience a lot of handshake problems. I live in Canada and they better fix it with a quick update before it come out here in August. If there is no handshake problems the device is awesome. The interface Chrome the Apps all work fine. I tried asking for support from Sony but no one has gotten back to me. July 26, 2012
Terrible I am a huge android fan. I write apps for a living and so naturally I thought this Google TV would be great for me. it turns out that nothing really works well. Netflix and Pandora lags. The remote only works sometimes (try switching to the keyboard and sometimes it is not responsive). I am highly technical and even I find this device frustrating. My wife attempts to use it every day and gets fed up after a few minutes waiting on apps to load or play content. July 24, 2012
What went wrong Sony I do expect a lot from Sony, but this release brought a huge disappointment, why did you remove the blu-ray player, I believe you are heading to the wrong direction. If I has an influence on Sony's technology and strategy I would have done it this way: 1- I would have kept the blu-ray. 2- offered two options for the remote control, one for gaming and one for easy browsing, touch screen, back led. 3- Another important feature that will change the world of sony is adding a recording feature, with a 20 or 50 GB HDD. come one Sony, SSD are all over the place and CHEAP, what is wrong with you, people pay 10 $ per month for stupid DVR's, and 15$/month for stupid TiVo, Do it right, drop this product, and Do it right. You have my contact info already if you need to ask me for more for my feedback, Sony you better get your act together or others will beat You, and you will be a story that everyone is talking about (in HISTORY).
