Intelligent Scene Recognition mode

Intelligent Scene Recognition (iSCN) mode automatically detects seven different types of scenes and, within just 1/30th of a second, selects the appropriate camera settings: Backlight, Backlight Portrait, Twilight, Twilight Portrait, Twilight using a tripod, Portrait, Landscape and macro. iSCN has two modes: Auto and Advanced. In Auto Mode, the camera takes a single shot using the optimal settings. In Advanced Mode, the camera takes a photo with the optimal settings and, if in difficult lighting (low light or back light) immediately takes a second photo with another optimized setting so you can choose which to keep.

Works for me This camera is great for the small foot print, but in order to have images that are not blurry you must hold it very still when shooting. This can be a little tough if you are wanting to take many candid images quickly. Overall though, I like the quality of the shots when they don't come out blurry! June 21, 2012

Fits my needs This camera is really nice, and I am happy whit my purchase because it does everything I need it to do; take pictures, transfer them to my laptop and even has cool camera functions like the panorama view. I wish the website offered more product details in general though, when I ordered it knowing that it didn't take AAA or AA batteries I was happy, but I didn't realize it meant that I had to charge the battery it came with.. I thought I would just be able to plug it into the computer and charge it form there. it is unclear if you can charge it both ways. the other thing is the media "playmemories" I was hoping to just drag and drop pictures form the camera into my laptop, but apparently you need a special program to do that, which is pretty dumb. (though that may just be because I don't have an SD card yet) I have not tried it with the SD card. April 7, 2012
