Intelligent Auto Mode

Unlike traditional auto mode, Intelligent Auto (iAuto) mode thinks for you, recognizing scenes, lighting conditions, faces, and adjusts settings resulting in clear images, faces with natural skin tone and less blur. Kids on the playground, landscape shots, a beautiful flower or an indoor birthday party; result in clear images without leaving auto mode.

Anti-blink Function

It’s frustrating to capture the perfect shot, only to review it later and discover subjects blinked during the photo. The Anti-blink function works to help counter blinking and squinting. When the camera is set to Soft Snap, the Anti-blink function captures two images, recording only the photo with less squinting. If a blink is detected in other shooting modes, a warning will be displayed after you take the shot.

Natural Flash

Conventional point-and-shoot camera flash shots just don't capture colors the way the eye sees them. Natural Flash mode takes a reference shot without flash and then uses that reference to correct the color, for far more lifelike images

Smile Shutter™ technology

Smile Shutter™ technology captures a smile the moment it happens. Simply select Smile Shutter™ and the camera does the rest. You can also select adult and child priority and indicate the degree of Smile Detection sensitivity. Intelligent Scene Recognition can now be used together with Smile Shutter™ mode when the Intelligent Auto mode is on. This means that beautiful smiles can be captured with settings optimized for the particular scene, even in difficult conditions such as twilight and backlighting.

Intelligent Scene Recognition mode

Intelligent Scene Recognition (iSCN) mode automatically detects seven different types of scenes and, within just 1/30th of a second, selects the appropriate camera settings: Backlight, Backlight Portrait, Twilight, Twilight Portrait, Twilight using a tripod, Portrait, Landscape and macro. iSCN has two modes: Auto and Advanced. In Auto Mode, the camera takes a single shot using the optimal settings. In Advanced Mode, the camera takes a photo with the optimal settings and, if in difficult lighting (low light or back light) immediately takes a second photo with another optimized setting so you can choose which to keep.

Sweep Panorama™ mode (up to 360°)

Reach beyond the traditional wide angle lens, and capture more breathtaking shots with Sweep Panorama™ mode. Simply press the shutter button and sweep the camera in the desired direction and the camera continuously shoots at a high speed, then seamlessly stitches the images together with automatic position adjustment to create one stunning panoramic image. Available in wide and up to 360° full circle, the camera can take a variety of panoramic shots. Now capturing wide landscapes is as easy as press and sweep.

Optical SteadyShot™ image stabilization

Optical SteadyShot™ image stabilization uses a built-in gyro sensor to detect camera shake and automatically shifts the lens to help prevent blur without sacrificing image quality.

Standard and PlusDynamic Range Optimizer (DRO) Standard and Plus uses a sophisticated algorithm to help recover shadows and highlights. Was a great camera at first... I had this camera for a few months and it was awesome. I loved it. It was one of the best digital cameras I have had. I was really impressed with it after using my old roommate's so I went and bought my own. I only had it for a few months. I always kept it in it's box put away somewhere safe since I was living with cats that knocked things over. I brought it with me to a convention and when i turned it on it acted really screwy. The lens would focus in and out repeatedly and then the screen would display " Please turn device off and then on." and would shut itself off and the lens would continue to focus. I have not been able to get answers to whats going on with it. I probably won't buy another Cyber Shot after this. June 10, 2013

Great Camera I love this Camera. This is my 3rd camera but my first Sony and i have to say that this is the best camera i've ever had. Its easy to use. And the pictures come out wonderful! Its great to use when kids are in motion. I have 2 little ones and they dont stop long enough to take a photo so the fact that i can use it while they are moving and i dont have to worry about blurry photos is amazing. I love it. Like i said the best camera i have purchased in a while. The other 2 cameras ive used before were kodaks and they weren't good quality photos like you get with this one. And i love the 360 its great! Best camera ever Takes great pictures,Easy to use the 1st time.Has very good on screen menu.Never saw a timer like this.Very unique This fits into my tripod with no problem.Love everything about it although the battery door could be longer.The cable wire plug is a litle hard to put into camera.End of door is right up against the socket,should be longer but not a big problem.just be gentle.Extra battery is expensive but well worth it for this camera.Have not had camera long enough to comment on battery life but with extra battery no big deal.All in all a great camera at a good price.I got a package deal.Came with case and memory card.love sony and will always buy from them. See for Yourself This is an excellent camera. Whether you are in a hurry or whether you are at leisure, use this camera for your needs. It's wide view lets more to be included in your frame, and the zoom level it provides in video mode is exhilarating. The panoramic sweep feature is a must when you have to capture vistas. This is the perfect companion in the city and in the wilderness. If you are a zoom lover who can't resist pushing that W and T for composing every single shot, please carry an extra battery. This way, you will have longer camera time as well as more great shots wherever you go. September 24, 2012
