Slim form factor. Twice the charge.
Sony is on to something with the sheet battery. Its slim form factor is unobtrusive and twice the charge for mobile computing is nice.
On my old laptop, I had to turn off the system to swap batteries. In some laptops, you have to sacrifice an optical drive to have a 2nd battery.
Not so with Sony's sheet battery. I can just snap it on the bottom of my Vaio and go twice as long without AC power. When attached, it looks like it's just the bottom of the laptop.
The sheet battery even comes with an adapter so you can connect it directly to AC power to charge without being connected to the laptop. Nice!
The way the batteries charge when the sheet battery is connected is quirky. Only one battery can charge at a time. If the sheet battery has less of a charge than the internal battery, as was the case for me, it'll start charging first.
In my experience, once the sheet battery charged to 80%, the primary battery started charging again until fully charged.
The only problem I experienced with charging is the sheet battery didn't automatically start charging again when the primary hit 100%. I tried disconnecting the AC power for a second, then plugged it back in. That did the trick, and the sheet battery is on its way to 100%. But I took a star off of this review for having to do that.

Not working
I bought this battery sheet but its not working
In my computer appears battery #1 and the percent. and battery #2 not present and its fully charged and never worked.

Great product
I honestly never take this battery off my laptop. Sure, my laptop is super-slim without it, but it's not too thick with the sheet battery and I can get almost 6 hours on a full charge. On "Speed" setting I get 2.5 hours easily.
Definitely get this battery if you have a Vaio S.

Terrible freebie from Sony
Support is totally incapable of dealing with this new product. After attaching the sheet battery to my computer, the pimary battery stopped charging, and after half an hour and one escalation, support still could not solve my problem. Avoid buying the VPCSE with this sheet battery at all costs!
