Average laptop
Overall it a nice laptop but even with such high specs I was experiencing frequency delays. So I decided to replace my hard drive with a SSD. The SSD supports SATA 3 speeds and even though the laptop has SATA 3 hardware but it has been forced by BIOS to run at SATA 2 speeds which is really disappointing.
So anyone looking to buy this laptop should be aware that they will only get upto SATA 2 speed which is 3Gb/s and not SATA 3 speed (6 Gb/s).

not as good as it claims
i owned the $1500 laptop but it was as good as said. the left mouse click not works properly, has to press deep and hard to open a link. motherboard need to replace after 5 weeks. Sony after sale service is terrible, phone is pushed around, long waiting. I would suggest everyone buy a Dell XPS 15z or HP dm4 1265 for the less money but run much smoother. HP costs only $700 . What a con!.

Prefect laptop compared to Macbook pro
This is the best laptop I ever got , everything was fine for 2 days until I updated windows with service pack 1 and then the fan went loud . End of the day I have no complains other than that update that made my laptop loud .In one sentence it's the best laptop out there at the time of purchase May/2011

It lives to th expectations of battery life averaging 6.25 hours (never expect the given value) which is more than the MBpro - W7 is unable to read how much battery life it really has, it fluxtuates from 2 hours to 6 hours so time it physically. Much lighter than MCpro (no need for a metal casing and if you do, go with lenovo). You get extra 2GB memory at 1333 rather than 1033 in MBpro, 7200RPM vs 5400 in MBpro, USB 3.0 is the universal outlet being used unlike thunderbolt only used by apple products so far.
PROBLEMS - Motion eye quality is above average but MBpro HD camera is AMAZINGLY clear (go to a apple store and see it for yourself!) and MBpro has a much better touchpad. IMPORTANT FACT - Physical switch from VGA to integrated is a MUST (for current technology and I'll explain why). Sony avoids the issue of an automatic switch (In the MBpro 15'-17') that has MANY ISSUES (Look at Apple forums). For a OS to switch graphics is EXTREMELY hard for the computer to do. The HUGE ISSUE everyone, as well as myself, is worrying about is the fan. The Fan runs as loud as my alienware laptop when it is running near full capacity but it is usually quiet running at ~47-50*C. Towards the beginning it ran quite loud updating and installing but for normal use i.e. internet, email, MS Office, and etc. it is quite silent. Extended Battery had me worry the most since it covered the bottom vents!! It does have small passages so it doesn't completely cover it and it had me worry that it would increase cooling ooutput lowering the actual 14hour batter life but it seems like the extended battery has little or no effect towards the vents. The vents are only memmory and north/south bridges(not sure which since I dont want to open mine).
OVERALL VERY satisfied with my laptop and easily will stick with sony over apple especially when W7 is much better OS.
*FYI* the free ADOBE is 2 generations behind it's current and pricing now is only 80$ not 448$ as advertise.
