Excellent TV ... with a caution I've no reservations whatsoever as to the quality of the picture of this TV set. As simple as it sounds, it's a joy watching TV programs/movies on this unit. Also, it took me awhile searching stores for a better TV, and I did find it in this set. But ... During the initial setup of the unit, I clicked on the automatic update option (using the TV wireless feature). That was a BIG mistake, because after one night, the set turned off in a middle of a movie ... and that was that. The Sony technician suggested to replace the unit because of some hardware problems. My guess is (also based on other reviews I've read later) that a firmware update damaged the unit. And so, when I got the second (brand new) set, I was CAREFUL to set-off that automatic update option. That's my reason for a four-star grading instead of a five. Anyway, now, a month plus later, life is good ... January 19, 2012
Great picture but hardware unrealible The TV has a great picture and the design is nice and light, but the TV turns off at least 3x a day and turns it self back on. This happens randomly. Makes no sense. Im waiting for technical help still. Hoping It can get fixed. Also, there are way too many firmware updates. None of which seem to be fixing my issues. Overall, its way over priced and I regret buying it. I may actually need to get the extended service plan just so Im not stuck with a busted TV after only a few months. January 8, 2012
GOOD TV BUT TO OVERPRICE. MEDIA SERVER SUCKS. I use to had a Sony XBR 2 and still working flawless. I bought this one because was on sale for $1699 at my local SONY STYLE STORE. was easy to mount very light, the stand is kind of lame, but do the work. NO complain with the picture because is excellent. and the 3D in games like Uncharted 3, Batman AC, Super StarDust IS amazingly SWEET. THE ONLY THING TAHT REALLY ME OFF IS THE MEDIA SERVER DONT RECOGNIZE THE FORMAT OS MY MOVIES (WVA, MKV , AVI) THE APPS ARE LAME REALLY REALLY REALLY LAME. I have a 40" sharp aquos in another room and is a breeze with the media and recognize any media that is on my server. I hope that sony fix this issue with and update AND GET RID OFF THE YAHOO WIDGETS AND USE GOOGLE APPS. December 14, 2011
