Absolutely awful
All I ask for is a simple pair of earbuds that are comfortable, can be worn around my neck, and have no unnecessary extra features. Look to the MDR-EX57 and MDR-EX56 models for good examples on how to do it right. I pray that you guys make the MDR-EX59 model, or whatever your next earbud model is, properly, because if not, you're going to lose yourself a customer.

Amazing Sound Quality, Comfortable, and Affordable
This is an incredibly high performing product for under $30. The sound quality is extremely life-like, with a fantastic frequency response of 5 - 23,000 Hz. The ear pads fit perfectly and significantly dampen ambient sounds.
I have owned two sets within the past year. The first set met a premature fate when my dog found it resting on the couch. The second set was kept safe from the dog, but couldn't survive its own design flaw. Audio in the right earbud was lost after four months because the connection within the volume control unit had been strained by the stiff rubber coating, which remains coiled after storage.
I definitely recommend this product for short term use (3 - 4 months max, unfortunately). With a better rubber coating over the cables, this would easily be my overall favorite earbud model because I LOVE the sound quality and comfort.

Good for the price
I bought the original pair at the begging of 2011, and I really liked them, but about 2 months later I had noticed that the piece of the cord that wraps over the 3.5mm plug was tearing off. so I took it in for a replacement and was surprised to find out that the same thing happened again about 2 more months later. So I replaced them again and the volume controller started to go out. The right side ear bud would start to cut out if I had the volume all the way up on the controller, so I replaced tose too. In hopes that my fourth pair would be just fine, I replaced them one more time. Unfortunately a similar problem occurred, but this time the volume screws up on the left side when the volume is all the way down. My guess why these problems happen is that the cord is too small, and not a hard enough rubber coating, and the volume control has some faulty wiring in it. Having the 1 year warranty is very nice if these problems happen, so I am glad they have that. As an over all product I like them, but I don't like the facet that they can't hold up to normal use. if they could fix these issues, I may consider getting another pair.

Premium Bass Quality Earbuds
Lasted for four months. The bass from these earbuds are incredible and enjoyable if you listen to techno, hardstyle, or any bass rhythmic music. Although, I do wish Sony had model MDREX36V in stock.
