Clean. Fast. Powerful. Modern. Japanese. I'm an old school fan of Sony and I love this machine. I've had it for over a 1 year now. I use it for a variety of different tasks from Photoshop CS5, Dreamweaver/HTML work for my job and Reason 5.0/Ableton 8.2 when I'm making music or playing live for my electronic band: MACHINE CONTROL. I didn't jump on the MAC bandwagon. The solid state drive is relatively cheaper than a MAC. I'm not happy with the current direction that Sony is going, the new stuff they've come out with is C+ quality + design and technology is mediocre, especially the latest phones. The Vaio Z could use a better web cam- maybe 1080p. The battery life is awesome and everything works great. September 2, 2011
Worth IT All i can say is wow. Same to the people the people who walk by me playing a high Graphics game. or 3D Modeling, on what they thought was a netbook. Keyboard Is very easy to type on and fast. touch pad is very user friendly. I like to zoom using two fingers very handy. It does get hot on the exhaust side so not in lap without a pad. This thing is not cheap but as in my coworkers say its a Super Netbook SSD with I7 and 8GB ram.... Also screen has great resolution and colors. The privacy filter does add lines to the screen which are annoying but in certain situations very handy. Get the warranty the end. March 5, 2011
Finest mix of components in an ultralight At present, you will have a difficult, if not impossible time finding a combination of this optical drive, ssd's in raid 0, 1080 resolution, all with an I7 cpu in a laptop that weighs a scant 3 pounds. Battery life is very good. Of course the price is very expensive, but Sony knows they've hit a sweet spot in all the things that make this laptop the ultimate combination. Worth it. December 3, 2010
Best laptop on the market. I use it for everything and it's definitely professional grade. It's a full-time desktop replacement and travel companion. It's powerful enough to handle everything from business tasks to creative tasks (Photoshop, video encoding etc.) and it entertains (Blu-ray movies, etc.) Highly recommended. -Mark G November 5, 2010
