Better than expected.
We just finished off an attic space with a new bedroom. Installed speakers in the ceiling of the bedroom. I've been looking for a good compact stereo system to use with these speakers.
I decided to go with the Sony CMT-MX700Ni as I figured it's only a matter of time before everything goes to WiFi and Internet radio. However, I've never used Internet radio prior to this purchase.
I was concerned about the fact that this unit doesn't have an AM antenna and/or a clock. However, when I got the stereo I found out it does include a clock and I'm able to get all the AM stations I'm interested in through the Internet radio with BETTER reception than my other stereos.
I never took the speakers out of the box as we just used the speaker wire that came with the stereo to plug into my hook-ups for the ceiling speakers. Works great! Sounds Great.
We've been having a lot of fun with this product and the Internet radio feature. As I noted earlier this unit is being used in a bedroom. So, we're not turning the music up real loud. But the sound is very good at the levels we've been listening to it at. We're actually thinking about buying another unit for our family room as the Internet radio/wi fi capability of this unit is so handy. We've made a number of stations on Pandora's box and now wish we could listen to them in other parts of our house.
We were very excited about the clock being included in this stereo. We like using the sleep option so that the stereo turns off on it's own after 90 minutes. Only concern is the display is a little small for the clock. Tough to see from across the room. The display also pushes a lot of light into the room. So, we've decided not to use the clock in standby mode as it lights up the room too much for us.
Overall, love this product and would recommend to anyone.

I purchased this micro hifi unit for my bedroom , its small enough to be put anywhere.. the sound on it to be fair is very good. It has built in wifi so you can stream music and a usb port for mp3 flash drives or cards. price wise not to bad for a HiFi has everything you really need built into 1 small unit , plus has internet radio stations which are not to bad so far... you can also use sony wifi speakers to stream ipod or cd music to other rooms in your home this too is a very usefull option to have, if you have partys anyway :) . Worth trying for sure ,as long as you know its not ultra loud ...but more than loud enough has good clear sound but not much in way of EQ just treble and bass adjust ..with added sound boost option ..but still more than good enough for small room , kitchen or lounge...
