A Reader for a Book Lover
I have owned this product for only two weeks, but have already read four books on it. I compared the Reader Pocket to the Reader Touch before buying, and selected the Pocket because of the lack of glare and the size - I have small hands, and the entire device fits comfortably in one hand or both hands without being heavy, and I can access the page turn buttons without interrupting my reading. When I examined the device in person, I was surprised at how much an electronic device could mimic an actual book - great contrast between the text and screen background. I am an avid reader and love to read (and own) books. I bought the Reader Pocket with the intention of using it to read books that I would otherwise buy in paperback. The software is easy to install and use (I use a Mac), it is easy to import PDFs you already own, it is easy to browse the Google free book library within the Sony library software, it is just overall easy to use so you are up and reading in no time. I travel a lot, and the Pocket enables me to carry my leisure reading without having to sacrifice luggage room for work documents. Because I was looking for a device that resembled an actual book as much as possible, I did not want wireless and I did not need a touch screen - I definitely wanted and use the bookmark feature. The only features I find a bit awkward are the right side buttons, but they are becoming less awkward the more I use them. I did purchase the leather cover, which has already come in very handy as it has protected my Pocket from my pets' shedding. Until I found the Sony Reader Pocket, I was mostly against e-Book readers because I thought they took away from the "real" reading experience. However, because this product does such a great job at mimicking an actual book, I have now started to recommend the Reader Pocket to everyone I know who reads.

Use the reader every day and love it
I haven't picked up a book since I bought the reader 2 years ago. It's so easy to reserve ebooks and download them from my local library that I haven't bought any books, electronic or otherwise. I did buy an inexpensive AC charger because doing it through my laptop is slow and inconvenient. I'm an avid reader; this has saved me hundreds of $$. I heartily recommend it.

Nifty E-Reader
Nifty as it fits in any pocket or pocket in a purse. It is easy to carry. The 5" screen is enough to read the bits and pieces of information when you are on the go- waiting rooms, traveling, etc. The 6" readers never give you time to finish the last 1" or reading when you are on the go. So this PRS 300 is so convenient. I bought this for my brother who is barely computer literate. I had him try out the Kindle and the Aluratek but he liked Sony the best. He just can't put it down and loves reading it. Sony PRS 300 is very easy and comfortable. It is not necessary to have MP3, but it would have been nice. The search takes some time, but the side buttons, large and round navigation wheel and four navigation buttons are the main selling point. There is no other reader around in the market that is like this. No other reader with lightweight and waterproof metal. So, it is just so easy to use. Besides, think about the fact that Sony Products are the best and built to last! My home is proof - I have a Sony Color Monitor - 14 years old, 2 televisions dating back to the 1990's, 1 small televison about 15 years old and a boombox around 20 years old. This should be proof that you can't go wrong with any Sony product on the market. You should at least have one Sony E-Reader, like this one. The new touch scren Sony Readers have both touchscreen and buttons proving to be the only hybrid on the market. Sony is under-rated. The company should start selling PRS 300 again. I bought the e-reader from Big Lots as refurbished for my brother. It works great! I gave 5 stars but it is about 4 1/2 stars.

Boredom Solution...Oh, yeah!
I received an E-reader for Christmas and there hasn't been one moment where I've been disappointed. The software was supposedly suckish from all of the reviews I've read, but I found it quite easy after the first book I downloaded. Oddly enough however, you don't REALLY need to use the bookmark feature unless it shuts down. I have turned it off after reading it for a little and returning to the home menu, but when I turn it back on, I can simply go to "Continue Reading" and I can read at leisure. I'm normally not too easily impressed, but after I got this, I am as deeply impressed as though I've been in a 364 ton press. I absolutely love the way it has a non-glare screen. The people at SONY have REALLY out done themselves.
