vaio desktop Right out of the box. Just plug it in and go. 500 g memory is enough but the mouse has to go. Screen res is good enough but could be better. Speed is fast enough too. Not really built for a gamer but will play anything. Need external speckers for better sound. Great picture and movie making package comes free. You will need to have a usb printer cable or buy one for $50 if your printer is now hooked up to a regular pin type on your old computer. Great for just sitting on your desk, no tower and enough power for all of your needs. Vista acts a little weird once and a while but it is the system of the future so be prepared that some things won't work right. I think it's a nice little computor and worth the $1000. No ATSC tuner? When I first saw the review of this model on CNET I thought I just missed hearing about the integrated ATSC tuner. But when I took a look at the specs here, I couldn't find anything about it either. The keyboard and mouse are also wired instead of wireless. This would be a super kitchen hybrid HD TV and computer if it had the ATSC tuner and HDMI connector with a cable card slot, and wireless keyboard and mouse. I think the SONY designers missed the boat on this one. November 30, 2008
