Not worthy of Sony's great brand
I have had a Sony notebook previous to my new SR590. I loved my old docking station, it was wonderful. This is a joke. Very expensive and even though you connect your laptop into it if you touch your computer the wrong way it disconnects! The fact that it did not come with a power cord is also a joke. I would like to send it back today! Sony should be ashamed of this product!

Good quality port replicator, but pricey.
Someone else reviewed and said the laptop could not be hooked up into the port, that is not true. There is a small latch door underneath that laptop that slides down and reveals the connector. Actually, that is a thoughtful design to prevent the connector from dust, contamination,etc. If you slide down the latch, the connector of the laptop will hook up to the port replicator perfectly. The replicator itself has a good overall design, sleek, stylish, sturdy, and lifts your laptop in a 15 degree angle which helps typing comfort and also improves airflow underneath the laptop for extra cooling. The indicator lighs and undock button work well. The only drawbacks are too few USB ports (only 3 on the replicator), and it is very pricey since it does not come with an extra power cord. So unless you choose to buy another power cord (costing $90), you still need to unplug your power cord when you travel. Overall, the experience so far is not bad, and Sony shipped the product very promptly as it estimated the shipping date on the website when I ordered. I do recommend this replicator which helps you enjoy your Sony laptop even more.

Dock Station for SR
I baught this for my new SR Laptop and was disappointed for 2 main reasons. Most docking stations come with a power cord and this did not, also the laptop does not lock into the station as it just sits there which I believe is a design flaw. So if you want to take your laptop with you somewhere you also have to unplug the power cord. TO buy an extra power cord is $90 so now it really cost $300 to get what you really need.
