Video Out does NOT work Very frustrating - the Video Out does not work for my DVD & Set top box. . September 5, 2011
Don't Buy, Terrible Design This product is so frustrating. When I run an HDMI cord from Cable Box to AVR, then out to TV the sound is from the TV. It takes a whole separate cord from TV to AVR for sound. The problem with this is having to control the volume from the AVR remote only. I have Logitech Revenue Google TV hooked up and my wireless keyboard should control volume and surround sound should be able to play through, but being that it takes a separate cord to use surround sound with this system, I cant control the volume from my wireless keyboard or universal remote. Well, if you're familiar with Google TV this means you constantly have to find you AVR remote, bc when on youtube and different internet apps and media players, the volume heavily varies. Im aware this may not effect all consumers, but is a dumb way to make a system. Why not make a AVR where the surround sound can be used even through the HDMI cord. A whole other cord for sound, then why do I even want to run HDMI cord through the AVR? Ridiculous Sony, once again your famed for your false advertising. January 29, 2011
Money well spent I hate to say that this is a typical Sony product, yet I think it is. This reciever has everything you need to hook up any type of system. Their is no lack of terminals to include all of your peripherals, also it has a few different ways to hook up some of these, e.g speakers, video etc. The power it has is just about perfect, you can get all the floor shake you want. The automatic speaker adjustment, is unreal, you can't mess up the speaker placement. This is a rarety today, something is actually worth the money you pay for it. November 23, 2008
