compared to what?
i have had thihs unit for several years. i have gone from excitement tp frustration to dismay to frustration to acceptance.
my wife bought us both a unit and i programmed them alike. without fail it makes the same errors. on a frequently made trip 3 miles from home, it redirects me to other main streets. at times, i have discovered new routes locally that make more sense than i have found on my own.
i readily accepted it's short comings. as a census worker. i was able to plug in addresses and program for shortest distance and was thoroughly impressed as it really helped find obscure locations. in one case i had to go to a gated community and decided to walk in. previously, i would just go in looking for the address. this time i walked and decided to take the nav-u73t gps with me. it led me right to the door!
there is no way to talk to anyione about the failures of the unit. tech support was ok but expensive. i had to replace the unit due to a broken screen. right then i should have bought another type of unit (product loyalty, fool) for comparison. as it was, for the price for a replacement i could have gotten a different type/manufacturer...
i would have initially bought another product initially, anyway.
also, i have yet to be able to see pictures from the pro duo data card using the slot on the bottom. major rethinking needs to be done unless they are all like this.

GPS Great Piece Of S**t
I bought this GPS, because of it's brand name, and it is bad. I tried to return it and they would let me, but they would exchange for the same model. I cannot hear the voices, I live in Oregon and it can never find us when it is cloudy or if we are traveling in a tree covered area. The suction cup atena is a joke, and it has very poor battery life. The unit itself will not work with the charging cord. Please don't waist your money.

Horrible
The menu and voice button stopped responding. Now I have to send back in for warranty. Thank goodness I wasn't on the road while this happen. Only thing good is its looks. Best if you try different brand.

I got this unit from my girlfriend for my birthday. I have been wanting a gps unit for some time. I was impressed with the large screen, and many functions. I was dying to try it out , so we did. worked very well finding points of intrest around town and such. But, when I was in a famillar town around where i live I was just playing around with it and set it to take me to a neighboring town that I knew well too. I knew the best way to go, but the unit told me different, so, I decided to follow it. It took me 23 miles out of the way to get to where i was going !!! very dissapointed in that !! I am now a little lery of using it on a long trip away from home, because who knows how far it will take me out of my way then, when I don't know any better than to follow it !! sad, very sad. but, it did regain some of my confidence when I used to go to baltimore aquarium, and it got me there, and home in real good shape. So , I guess you just don't know for sure if you are going the best way all of the time. but for the most part it will get you there !!
