Very interesting sound These are very dynamic sounding phones, and while their voicing is on the bright side, they offer a lot of detail, deep tuneful bass, and are not harsh. Like any premium headphone, they benefit from being used with high-quality dedicated headphone amps. I used my MDR-SA5000 with a number of amps and found them a good match to the M3 DIY amp discussed on the HeadWize site.
