FD Trinitron® WEGA® Flat Screen

FD Trinitron® WEGA® Flat Screen Technology is the basis of Sony's award-winning line of visually flat televisions. The FD Trinitron sets deliver incredible image accuracy, wide viewing angles, outstanding contrast, and corner-to-corner detail. The visually flat FD Trinitron® tube minimizes annoying glare from light sources, which enhances contrast. Detail, corner-to-corner, is rendered more accurately because images aren't distorted by a curved screen. Squares are square, straight lines appear straight, and circles are circular.

SRS® Audio Effect

SRS technology retrieves the spatial information that is lost during ordinary audio compression from any stereo recording and restores the original three-dimensional sound field. As a result, the reproduced sound is much closer to what the artist originally intended and to that of a live performance. A natural 3D sound image is created from any two-speaker stereo system. And because it is based on characteristics of the human hearing system SRS delivers natural, non-fatiguing sound without a discernable sweet spot limitation, allowing for superb sound from any listening position.

Great TV! I inherited this TV about 3 years ago from the previous tenant (who probably didn't want to move it). The TV has always offered a great picture almost as good as my 50" HD Sony TV. The only drawback is that it is very heavy and awkward to move or carry. August 5, 2010

Awesome Picture and Sound I've had this tv for years already and never a problem. The picture is awesome and even though its not what you'd think of as a priority if you have a surround sound system, the tv has it's own built in surround that's really impressive. If you aren't going for a flat panel, you have to at least endulge in the flat screen. Awesome value. June 2, 2009
