Easy to use

  • Can I connect the Streaming Player with Wi-Fi to any TV? The Streaming Player with Wi-Fi can be connected to any TV with an HDMI® connection (sold separately). If you've used up all the HDMI inputs on your TV or would like to upgrade an older TV, you can also connect via the component video or composite video connections.

    How do I access the premium services like Netflix®? First, you need to register the Streaming Player with Wi-Fi from a computer through the Sony Essentials web site at www.internet.sony.tv. Next, you need to sign into or register for the premium service by selecting the service on screen and following the on screen instructions to finish the account setup on a computer.

    How can I bookmark my favorite channels? Highlight the channel and hit [Options] on the remote which brings up a menu that includes the option to "Add to Favorites". The next time you want to access your favorite channels, hit the [Favorites] button on the remote to bring up your favorites.

    What kind of USB drives can I connect to the Streaming Player with Wi-Fi? You can use USB flash drives or external USB hard drives (FAT32 and NTSF).

  • Which of the channels streams content in full 1080p resolution? Currently, none of the channels are streaming in 1080p. However, the Streaming Player with Wi-Fi can support up to 1080p, and your personal content can be played back in 1080p via USB. Requires compatible HDTV and HDMI® cable (sold separately).

    There are so many channels, what should I watch? We strive to bring a wide variety of the best content available on the internet along with some Sony exclusives, so just browse around. The most popular channels are the ones that deliver movies, TV shows and music like Netflix, Hulu Plus™, and Pandora®.

    What if some of my videos won't stream back over DLNA®? The Streaming Player with Wi-Fi is DLNA Certified and meets all of the video, audio, and photo media format interoperability requirements to achieve the DLNA certification. However, there may be some file formats that are not currently supported.

    Which channels stream 3D content? 3D content is currently being offered through 3D Experience and Video Unlimited.

    How can I share my thoughts on Facebook? Socialize™ feature allows you to post a message to Facebook® or send a tweet to Twitter™ so you can share information about the internet videos and music that you're enjoying. You can find the "Socialize" feature under "options" on your remote.
