Walkman® Mobile Entertainment Player
I've enjoyed an A818 Walkman for years but it started to show its age. After much though I went with the Z1060 and have been amazed at the sound with decent headphone like the ATH-M50 and XBA4; at the beginning the included Music Player app would crash and things were generally slow. With the most recent update everything is nappy and I've had no problems. You can even use lossless formats with this player, and it works with my Mac - just drag the music. Listening to music with the Z1060 is an addictive joy.

Worst Sony product ever bought
I have never regret a purchase as such.
Dual-core processor? Then why the touch screen and the three touch buttons give no response from time to time? In the playback view, when I press the menu button, I always have to wait for longer than 1 second before the menu pops up! Besides this, there are various issues. I tried to fix it but only found other users are experiencing similar difficulties. There give horrible user experience. Before my anger moves to the songs I love, I decided to stop using this device. Sony's Walkman used to be my top choice. As I am writing down these words, I am listening to my X1060 player. It has little less good sound, but the overall experience is thousands of times better than Z! In the future, I will stay away from Walkmans that has ANDROID, and, HUGE SCREEN. All I want is good sound (and I believe many people share this with me). Maybe Sony is just not the right choice for such need.
(My lt26i also failed in two months. Although it has nothing to do with this case, Sony left me a very bad impression this year. As a fan of Sony, I feel hurt.)

This thing sounds awesome. I highly recommend it. I got the 23 GB variety and have been very pleased. I am almost overwhelmed with the functionality it offers!
I am, however, NOT a fan of the earbuds that come with it. They sound great, but they are uneven in length, which is not only annoying, but has caused me to inadvertently tear them out of my ears just while moving around. My biggest problem has actually been finding an arm band I can use while exercising. If anyone knows of one, please let me know. I've found some nice hard cases, but nothing with an arm band or even a belt clip that will fit.

no match for iPod
Sony should really make an effort to compete with the iPod...this offering doesn't do it. All the features are there to be an iPod killer, but they didn't follow through. It is called a MP3 player - and that's what it is. I wanted something to replace my Zune, but the Sony software will not recognize WAV files, so I had to download all my CDs again! The software should be built to recognize other formats. The iPod sure does - it will take any format and convert it to the Apple file. The storage needs to be at least 64MB, or have the ability to add storage to the item. Not happy with this product - will upgrade to the new iPod touch...as much as I hate to do so. If only Sony could do better...
