SmartWatch 2 - Metal Band
The functionality is outstanding and even better when combined with the SBH52 headset a combo that is much better than having a mic or speaker on the watch. The only problem I experienced was the waterproof usb charging port is hard to open and has broken twice. The usb port cover is full unlike on the SBH52 which is waterproof also but has a small slot that allows you to open it, hence the four star rating.

No Problems on Samsung NOTE 3 -- Really NICE!!
Wow! Pretty dang good integration IMHO!! I'm using a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (Android 4.3). The setup was SUPER EASY using NFC. I suggest installing "NFC Easy Connect" from Sony before getting started.
Using this application, the Smartwatch 2 was recognized immediately and pairing was done in seconds. The Smartwatch 2 then prompted you to install the Smartwatch 2 Application from Google Play Store. The watch then prompted you to do the firmware update and it rebooted. Use the Smartwatch 2 application, for installing the "suggested" apps and also search Google Play for additional applications by category.
Overall, the whole experience was excellent. Although the number of apps are limited, I think you will find the main social players such as Facebook, Gmail, and Twitter are all supported directly on the watch. The notification feature works great allowing you to preview and view right on the watch. You can easily decide whether you need to pull out the phone or not. I find this to be a real convenience.
The trans-reflective nature of the display is great too. Basically you can always see what time it is without having to touch the display or activate the backlight. At $199, I think you'll find this is a good value.
I hope we'll see developers supporting this device which will only make it better over time.

I'm big into Smartwatches, having owned the Galaxy Gear, original Sony Smartwatch 1, and Pebble
The big decision I had to make this generation was go to with the new Galaxy Gear, or Sony's Smartwatch 2. Really touch decision because I was in love with Sony's original Smartwatch.
I really really wanted to like the Galaxy Gear. I'll admit the first photos of the Galaxy Gear watch were ugly and I wasn't a fan at all. After playing with it at BestBuy and then purchasing it I ended up falling in love with it.
Sadly in the end, Samsungs watch didn't do it for me :/ When I get multi-texts (where someone sends more then 165 characters, or group texts), the Galaxy Gear won't show the entire message (and yes I scrolled down), and a lot of other messages would get cut off as well, nor would it store any previous messages on it.
If I can't fully read a text, to me that defeats the purpose of a Smartwatch. So I chose Sony instead of Samsung.
On top of Sony's functioning the way a smartwatch should, you also get all the apps developers have made the last 2 years for Sony. Most of the apps aren't that great, but there are great ones out there and random ones too (Tic-Tac-Toe).
As I'm sure you already, Sony's watch is also water-proof and lasts about 4-5 days (longer if you hardly use it). To me, I could care less about battery life, 1 day is good enough for me... but waterproof is a must. I love being able to see a text/call in the shower, or in the hot-tub, or doing any type of watersports.
Anyway, I'm sure all the Galaxy Gear lovers will down-rate my review here. I really wanted to like the Gear :(
