The bluetooth is great, sound is pretty good, Mirror link is for android devices and I have an iPhone. The store recommended this but I would not have purchased it if I knew that the iPhone interface did not show the screen without using the HDMI cable and does not work while driving. I bought it for the 7 inch screen for the navigation apps on my phone. I could have lived with a 6 inch screen if I knew I still needed to look at my phone.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Snowblind I want to LOVE this head unit but I can't!
I want to LOVE this head unit but unfortunately I can't.
It is VERY good as an audio source with high voltage preouts and excellent EQ and subwoofer controls. The screen is bright and big. The Nav is TomTom based. It has 2 x USB and the ability to play most formats. I thought it would be the perfect head unit. I even bought the matching Sony phone.
The problems come when you get into the details of how this unit works or doesn't work.
2xUSB are not fully functional: These USBs can only be used for 2 different devices. eg: 1 x ipod and 1 x flash. 2 x flash or 2 x ipod will not work. Also the USBs cannot be extended with a normal USB cable making it IMPOSSIBLE to provide a USB connection to my middle row passengers. Finally if you add navigation that uses up one of the USB ports leaving just one.
Limited USB decoding abilities and limited ipod functionality: I have a serious system in my truck and prefer high bit-rate music. AppleLossless files will not play from a memory stick via the USB and other high-rate files sound mediocre due to the DAC Sony is using. I now use an ipod classic instead of the USB and the sound is much improved. However some of the most BASIC functions, (like shuffling a playlist and playing a Genius playlist) are NOT available when using the ipod.
Unstable interface with questionable UI choices: Using NAV + Flash USB music caused endless crashes of the nav and music. Nav + ipod is more sable but the UI still sucks. When searching and browsing you are constantly re-routed to the first artist on the ipod (alphabetically) instead of the artist you were browsing.
Phone integration more suited for city dwellers and lower quality systems: I regularly travel to areas where cell reception is weak. No reception equals no apps. Connecting the phone via bluetooth for music = compressed music. Using Pandora/apps for music = compressed music. Sony phone won't accept LossLess Audio formats. For some people compressed music is OK but I prefer higher quality.
If you stream your music and are satisfied with quality then my issues are not problems for you. If you're looking for a top-quality audio deck you should think twice. I would give up mirrorlink in a second for improved ipod control or better USB audio decoding.

Menus are easy to navigate. Settings are easy to find. Navigation works great! Movies are a dream. Be sure to keep the software updated and this thing will perform great!

I bought this unit to use with Galaxy S5, but no mirrorlink, maps, or bluetooth audio support. Sony app does not work either :(
