by MrGreen If You have a Z Ultra, You need this.
The SBH52 is probably one of the best phone accesories iv had to date, the best bluetooth device iv had, and the PERFECT companion to the Xperia z ultra. Im usually very picky about my electronics, and get very critical about how they perform by them selves, or with others, and this device (especially for the price point) left me with the feeling that I definately got my monies worth. The first thing I noticed was how nice it was setting up and connecting with a NFC xperia device (will be slightly different with other devices). As soon as I coupled them it connected then promped me on screen to download the supporting apps, then it was good. First thing I tried was audio without headphones its very loud and very clear, songs with really punchy bass make the slightest bit of distortion with the volume all the way up, but nothing terrible (may also be the sound settings I have on my phone). It does a nice job of controlling music, but obviously you have to have a list of tracks qued first. A plesant surprise was the ability for it to control my other media (a recent standard but still nice) movies, youtube whatever, you can control playback with the device. The phone calls are really clear no distortion, and friends actually tell me that it sounds better than my phone, battery life is perfect and the user interface is clean and simple. Reviewing text messages is very convenient and TTS makes it a lot nicer in the event that you are too busy to check the screen. The included headphones are nice, good sound and wires are just the right length for being usable but not being in the way. Another good perk of the headphone jack is the ability to connect the handset to speakers, or a stereo that does not have bluetooth capability and play music without having to leave your phone near the stereo, or have a trail of wires. Id recomend this to anyone, and I even plan on buying one for my wifes HTC one. The only minor complaint I have would be the either lack of/or very little documented ability to change the default Ringtone to that of your phone to fully take advantage of that nice speaker.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Imupindis The best bluetooth handset/headset I've seen
Being able to use this device as a full fledged handset or an earbud style headset makes this versatile device what it is. Absolutely amazing. I was told the sound quality of this was greatly clearer than the bluetooth in my Acura. This is a must have piece for the larger Z Ultra. Much easier to use the phone with this handset. I called 15-20 Sony locations to find this and they were all sold out. Including the online store. That spoke volumes to me.
The Z Ultras speaker is nothing great. Placing the sound through this makes it exponentially louder.
Back to versatility. Speaker phone, handset and headset are all here. It is a great piece for doing everything phone based. Reading notifications, texts, emails, tweets, and facebook updates are all easy to read on the display. The control over my Z Ultra is fascinating.
Only thing I would have asked to upgrade is quality feel of the device. It is really plasticky. It looks great but feels a little flimsy. With everything this does I can definitely overlook that. For $100 this is by far the best bluetooth device you will find. If it becomes available I say don't hesitate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Sawyer Worth the money
Being a big phone enthusiast I have been watching these types of devices for some time. I felt this was the one to pull the trigger on, so I pounced and(I believe) I pushed the order through right as they became available to the US.
Given that I use this with the outstanding, "Yes-it-is-a-phone-not-a-tablet", Xperia Z Ultra they preform flawlessly together. With the appropriate apps Sony provides in the Google Store, you're able to check texts, missed calls and much more.
I feel like there is MUCH more room for improvement for items like these, but I'm sure Sony doesn't want to step on the toes of their SmartWatch...Which I assume tested better in focus groups. Perhaps most consumers don't see the need for a phone for your phone, but I do. I certainly hope Sony has future plans to make many more items like this both for the average consumer and the enthusiasts.
Ignoring my need for exactly what I want out of a product and looking at what this product was designed for - It delivers 100%.
Battery is outstanding and charges very quickly. *Battery SUCKS for the first few days, but after a couple charging cycles it lasts quite a while*
Easy to understand and navigate *Something I feel was left out is a lock button - so you don't hit play on accident and blaring music to everyone within ear shot.*
Loudspeaker works way better than expected *For listening to music, I have not tried it for a phone call yet.
Overall a great device!

Rated 2 out of 5 by bindignavile1956 Could be a great device, but flawed
I bought the SBH52 as a replacement for my old Sony Ericsson MW600, so most of my disappointment could be related to why the SBH52 doesn't match up to the MW600.
The biggest gripe I have is the SBH52 randomly disconnects - I own an Xperia Z phone and an Xperia Z2 tablet, both Sony products - and it cannot even stay connected, even after upgrading to the latest firmware of all the products.
Music quality is outstanding, but so was the MW600. In fact I'd give the edge to the MW600.
When used as a hands-free device, the SBH52 microphone badly misses the mark. My callers consistently complain that they cannot hear me and I have to switch to the phone audio/mic to continue the conversation. I can hear the caller fine though, so the problem is definitely the mic.
For a product that premium-priced, and from a reputable company like Sony, I was extremely disappointed. After trying to use the product for 4 months, I cut my losses and sold it on Amazon. Luckily, I found a new MW600 on ebay, and am now back to using the older product with considerably better results.

thank you for your very excellent accessory. it is very use able and useful Particular in android smart phone. I used this device with a nokia lumia 1520 that the OS is windows phone 8. it would be grate if i can use it in full feature like android smart phone. in my phone I have just answer a call and see the phone number, but in android phone you see contact, sms, log call and can dial to call log and also see a digital clock in your display.

Rated 5 out of 5 by suave97 Sooo Good!
I've had this device now for a couple of weeks and I'm thoroughly enjoying it..It's a great partner to both my Xperia and iPhone. THE sound quality is very good with the enclosed earbuds and I haven't had to reach for my xba-3's to replace them because there is no need. When not paired to any device, I've been very happy with the sound and reception of the FM tuner. You won't be disappointed with this purchase especially if you'll be pairing these with some late-model Xperia.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Pbj606 BEST EVER!!!
I'll like to start with this....for me and my house, it has been SONY and will stay SONY!!! I reviewed this product-SBH52K before eventually purchasing it, and I have to say hands down you guys has done it again. Price is reasonable, shipment was convenient, and the product itself AMAZING. Regardless of the fact that I have the C6916, I am yet to be disappointed and I doubt that I will with you guys. Thanks for another amazing breakthrough with Bluetooth Handset and making the gym worth going to.
