by privater Great Product and Value with some cons
I bought this headphone because it's Sony's first bluetooth headphone which support apt-X, after hours of play, it almost got everything right, but apt-X. After 3+ hours of search I finally nailed it, but I'm afraid most of the people who bought this might never use apt-X in the first place.
long words short:
check here to turn on High Quality mode:
The default mode is use inferior SBC codec, you have to turn on the headphone with Power + Volume + to boost it to High Quality mode then get apt-X support. Then turn on your Macbook to enjoy the apt-X support best audio quality.
The worst part is Sony didn't have any info of this in their product manual or setup notice, it's a completely shame you have to search online to find there vital mode changes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by GordonBordon Best Bluetooth Headphones I've Owned
I've had these headphones about a year and I love them more today than a year ago. I read other reviews that talk about pairing problems - here's what I connect with regularly: Samsung Note 3, Samsung Tab 8, Nexus 10, HP Pavilion and a $5.00 Bluetooth adapter that I have in my desktop computer. ALL of them connect perfectly. I do agree with the reviewer that said they're a little bass-heavy because I'm all about mid-range, but the mid-range these have in fantastic for Bluetooth headphones. And the bass that you do hear is crisp and sharp, it's not muddy or flat, and it doesn't take away from my mid-range. I DO use equalizers in all of my players too, which I would suggest for anyone who cares about sound at all. Again, these are Bluetooth headphones, they're not wired. The sound is different, and hands-down these are the best Bluetooth I've owned, and I have / had 6 pair to compare them with. (Some people buy shoes, others collect movies... My feet are bare and I don't own a DVD player, but my ears are definitrly covered in style and great sound!) :)

Amazing headphones but i came here and made an account just to tell you this important part, to use APT-X codec that is the best audio quality you can get you have to put the headphones in "Sound Quality" mode. Here is the link to Sonys help site telling you how-
You have to press the Volume up+ and power to turn them on and the light will blink blue 3 times. Only then will the headphones be in APT-X compatible mode!!!!!!!
I am a crazy audiophile and I use the mdr-10's on my pc, so i bought these BT ones to use with my phones etc, I listened and was very upset at how distorted the sound was. I used a logcat to detect that the codec was SBC. After investigating I found that link. Now im running 24bit@44Khz with APT-X. its wonderful these headphones are by far the best I found.
//Tech rant end
Hope this helps!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by JonSD MDR-10RBT won me over vs XB950BT
I was lucky to have used both the XB950BT and this MDR-10RBT. Without doubt, I went for the 10RBT and returned the XB950BT. The latter model sure has studio quality bass, but with the bass turned off the quality ipales to the MDR-10RBT which is balanced in my opinion, as if in a concert hall. I like that I can hear subtle arrangements without being muddled by bass even in bluetooth.
The soft, plush cushion is very comfortable as it wraps around my ear without feeling any pressure after an hour of use. The head band is also narrow and flexible. This helps it reduce clamping tension when compared to wide bands, like the XB950BT.
Connection is quick. Whether you turn your iPhone 5s's bluetooth first or this unit first, either way they will connect automatically after first or second attempt.
Beats are overrated and so is the Sony XB950BT. This unit is the way to go.

Rated 4 out of 5 by LTO1996 Good Purchase
Just bought the MDR-10RBT headphones. So far all went well. It was easy to pair them with my iPad, Blackberry, and Mac. The sound is very good, with just the right amount of bass and great volume. They fit well and are not uncomfortable. However, I have only worn them for about an hour. The range is good. I can walk all over the house, upstairs/downstairs and keep a connection. One strange thing happened today, I turned them on to pair with my iPad and music was already playing. I don't know where the music was coming from, possibly picking up another device that was not in my home. After turning them off and back on twice I was able to connect. I also had an error message the second time I tried to connect to my Mac. I may need to re-boot the Mac? My problems are likely inherent to BT technology rather than the headphones. Overall I am please.

I have purchased several headphones from Sony in the past year and I have to say that these are by far the most impressive and provide everything that I need for everyday use on my devices.
> The 40mm drivers deliver rich bass and excellent clarity. From dubstep to orchestral, the sound quality that you get is consistent and full. I enjoy hearing the subtle nuances that you can't hear from the competition. I've tried Beats and Bose and only the Bose come close, but not for the price.
> The mic. I use these headphones on my MacBook Pro (Skype) with customer and stakeholders. They tell me that I sound much clearer than my lan phone and other headphones that I have used. The mic delivers and I no longer echo like when using stock/entry level headphones with a mic option.
> The Bluetooth/NFC. Pairing is a breeze! Connected to my MacBook Pro, iPad, iPod, PS3, PS4 and Nexus phone in less than 10 seconds. These have yet to drop connection or fade in and out like some bluetooth devices can. It works up to and if there are no obstructions beyond the 30ft to about 40ft.
> Comfort. Most headphones cover to much or not enough, but these are the Goldielocks. I have worn these for up to 8 hours with no issues, weighty feeling on my neck or that tightness on the head.
My only improvements would be
> To have these fold up like the MDR-X10's to easily port around
> Have a nice travel bag that would close and lock. I went to the hobby shop and got some velcro to make the bag seal, which is a workable solution.
I love my other Sony headphones (MDR-X10, Playstation Pulse Elites) and these headphones deliver the same quality as they share the same technologies. However, these give me the freedom to move without the need for wires or an adapter.

Rated 3 out of 5 by PS4Sadman Good... but bad
Great sounding headphones that will definitely be a solid deal if all you need them for is music or similar activities. If you want to pair them to a SONY PlayStation 4 and use in the built-in mic feature to talk to friends, well that's not going to happen. SONY bluetooth headphones do not work with a SONY PlayStation.
When trying to connect via bluetooth you receive an unable to connect due to incompatibility message. When you connect via auxiliary cord the mic doesn't work. Very Disappointed. I want to hear my friends and talk to them as well. It shouldn't be a tough fix.

Excellent buy ! I was looking for bluetooth headphones to be used with tablets but that can also be wired connected to a computer. And I found this one at a Sony Store in Centre EATON for CAD $130,00 on a 30th december. Before, I went to every store in Montreal and the only model I found as this one, and another from a not-known company. Works perfectly. Thanks Sony !
