Rated 5 out of 5 by BlackFeather Just Get It
Get it Get it Get it. This system sounds amazing. I know Boss has a great sound but for half the price, this Sony system comes close. All my guests are impressed by it. It provides a true theater experience. It looks great and compliment my modern/futuristic looking set-up. Voices are very clear and the sub woofer well, lets put it this way, you can feel what your watching. The wireless rear speaker minimizes the sight of wires running all through my living room. The blue ray player, omg, the picture is amazing. The player also comes with built in applications for your convenience like Netflix, Youtube ect. I don't know what more to tell you about this thing beside, I have only scratched the surface. I could spend more time on this review but I'd rather go watch a movie on my brand new home theater system. If you choose to not get this system, unless you choose Boss for $1,400. My system will sound better than yours LOL::::::::: The choice is yours.

Rated 4 out of 5 by circirman THE Best Home Theatre System. Period.
This home theatre system lives up to its name. It is indeed a premium Sony product. I have owned a Sony sound bar system and a previous Sony DVD home theatre system but this product blows those previous sound systems out of the water. I would first like to state that this system is not truly wireless as described. Each speaker still requires its own cord to be connected to a receiver. What makes this system "wireless" is a wireless hub for the rear speakers to be connected to. So with the wireless hub you are now using two power outlets. One for the blu ray player and now one for the wireless hub. Not a big deal but something to consider. The blu-ray player itself is very long and will most likely not fit in the most common home theatre TV stands. The blu-ray player itself is unbelievable especially on my new Sony 4K 55" UHDTV. The upscale to 4K is truly something you must see for yourself as it brings a far better picture to blu-ray than my launch PS3 does. Overall I highly recommend this set up as the each speaker will truly wow you with their sound quality. I encourage you to buy this especially if you are in the market for upgrading to 4K.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jmell Amazing HTIB
I've spent some time searching, and searching, and searching for a quality HTIB as opposed to building my own speaker system through AV receivers and the rest of the hassle. I previously had a Samsung HT-EM45 set and it was okay. I dont even think it was 500w. I can say for sure that this system is without a doubt the best I've found. Looking at the higher end LG's, Samsung F series, I kept going back to this one. The sound is crystal clear, and you hear every pin drop from all 5 speakers. The design is sleek, and right out the box you can tell you bought a high quality product. Setup is easy, putting the system together is easy. A couple screws and your pretty much done. The one problem I have is the HDMI-CEC. It acts up where my TV is Samsung Anynet+ and of course the Bravia Sync. It works, but when i change the volume I get two seperate bars on my screen. Overall, OUTSTANDING

Rated 3 out of 5 by gsxr2006 Great Speakers..Below average receiver
Let me start off by saying this system LOOKS and SOUNDS great. No complaints there. It gives my living room a beautiful touch. However....
The blue ray receiver highly disappointed me. Switching between HDMI 1 and HDMI 2 stinks. Its very slow. Example: Ill be on my XBOX on HDMI 1. When Im done and ready to watch TV, ill hit the home button on the remote to go to HDMI 2. It frequently just goes to a black screen and sits there. I have to hit the home button several times to actually get to the home screen. Very frustrating.
Also, the system seems really slow and freezes on me at least once a week.
I also dont like the fact that i cant hook up the speakers to my conventional sony receiver due to its proprietary speaker hook up. I really wish i could get rid of the Blue ray receiver altogether and just keep the speakers. I dont even use the blue ray. I hate the fact that i have to run everything (my XBOX and Roku) through the blue ray in order to get surround sound.
If i had to do it over again, i would inquire about getting just the speakers and using a different receiver.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Om1kron Very Quality Package
My friend asked me for home theater in a box recommendations since he was shopping for surround sound. Since I am familiar with Sony, I looked at the offerings and felt this was the best thing to suit his needs. It's a great unit and very minimalist.
I was surprised at the overall packaging and I think paired with a good universal remote can provide a very sleek and elegant home theater solution.
Tons of robust features, bluetooth, 4k ready, wifi enabled connectivity that allows enjoyment of features such as netflix and hulu and sony's video service if you subscribe to it.
Setup was very easy, packaging was great, everything was really easy to follow.
The sound was great from what I could tell. Especially since the room I put it in was very small to begin with, the system really packs a great punch. Very crisp sound, without having extremely large speakers and wiring cluttered all over the place.
My favorite feature so far is the wireless hub for the rear channels, and the option for wall mounting or floor mounting.
If you want a top of the line htib system along with a 3d blu ray player and media hub. This is the system for you. I definitely would purchase another.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Bananastandmoney GREAT System, but one flaw
This system is AMAZING. The sound quality is great, the speakers are crisp and look phenomenal. I have only had the speakers for a few days, but I love them and do not regret buying them by any means.
I realize I'm the only person giving this system 3 stars, but there is a valid reason (however petty it may seem). Every time I turn the TV back on the input is switched from HDMI 1 to TV. Which is ridiculous. For 700 dollars you should be able to lock in the input. I have nothing connected to the TV input! I talked to the representative on the sony chat (the chat was annoying to find on this site for some reason) and the gentleman said that since I do not have a Sony TV I don't have Bravia Sync (or whatever it's called). This Bravia Sync is the only way to bypass this annoyance. (I have Samsung 7500).
So instead of putting the remote to the receiver away, not I have to keep it near my whenever I watch TV. My Sony Surround Sound System I bought a decade ago before I went to college had an option to lock in the input. My receiver from 2013 cannot.
I do recommend this system, but if you don't have a Sony TV I guess Sony pulls an Apple on you (it only lets you connect fully when using all their products)

Rated 3 out of 5 by Nickonamo A bit Disappoint
I bought this to replace another brand that stopped updating it's ability to play newer BDs. It works well for that purpose, it plays them all just like our PS3 does, that is good. The problem is compared to the old one, the sound level is weak, the bass from sub-woofer is very weak, not thunderous as claimed. For some reason it requires twice the volume level from our TV to get the same sound from a BD movie. It does have very crisp clean sound though, which is also good. And there is only one sound mode that sounds right, the others I would never use any of them. It could really use another digital input for a CD changer, it only has one extra RCA and 2 HDMI. For a Premium system I expected better. But it's okay, so I give Average rating, because I think it is average.
