Double Full HD 3D Consumer camcorder

The Sony^® Handycam^® HDR-TD30V utilizes two Full HD sensors to capture true 1920x1080 3D video for a more immersive 3D experience. Geotagging with built-in GPS receiver & NAVTEQ^® maps

A built-in GPS receiver⁷ makes the HDR-TD30V an ideal choice for travelers. The receiver gives you the ability to view your current location on the LCD map display, as well as "tag" your shooting locations. Tagged videos and still images can be reviewed and played back using the Map Index function on the camcorder or once downloaded to your computer using PlayMemories Home software⁹. Additionally, the receiver automatically adjusts your camcorder's clock to the proper time zone.

A stunning look into the future I have been a professional media producer for over 30 years. I have lots of Sony equipment as well as many other high end tools from other manufacturers. This purchase was hopefully going to serve several purposes...fooling with 3D...capturing a special trip to the islands, in 3D and being a small compact video camera...but I would have taken my EX-3 if need be. Happily I do not need to carry a larger camera as the quality of the picture on this camera is superb...and the 3D is far beyond what I thought I would get. The 5.1 surround took me by surprise as well. I took it out into a forest for some tests and was blown away. Yes the LCD gives you an idea of what the 3D will be like without glasses in the field but it was when I got the footage back to my studio that I was floored. The 2D video is amazing as well and the still picture image...which you can shoot at the same time you are shooting video footage...beats the heck out of many cameras generating a 20 megapixel shot...For $1000 I cannot believe the value of this purchase. I am a Sony fan anyway having spent a fortune on cameras and studio gear and this ranks among the best purchases. April 25, 2013
