Fun product! This is kind of an outrageous design, but why not? It is fun, and if you are willing to throw away or store your CD cases somewhere, it can save you a lot of storage space. Buy a cheap generic PC keyboard for it and type in your CD titles. It sounds as good as any CD player I have ever had. You will have new enjoyment of your CD collection, and at this price, it is easy to try one out. June 28, 2009
Good Buy This is my second purchase of a refurbished unit - I'm connecting it to the first one. Both came in perfect working and cosmetic condition. In a way, the advantage of a refurbished unit from Sony is not only the price but also it's been QA/QC'd twice. I know more and more folks are leaning towards digital storage for massive music collections, but I'm a little "old school" I just like lit-up mechanical components. If you have the patience, I suggest making copies of your cd's to include the cd text. The advantage is that you do not have to rely on the limited memory of the unit and for any reason that you may have a mechanical problem that may damage a disc, you lost 15 cents and a little time versus fifteen dollars and a old cd out of circulation. I've had my first one for about a year...so far it's working fine. March 26, 2009
